There is truly nothing like the relationship that I have with my mom. When I was little, she was the woman who took me to school, helped me with my homework, fixed my hair and made me wear sunscreen. When I got a little bit older, she was the woman who let me cry on her shoulder after those rough middle school days. In high school, she was the women who supported my decisions and always went the extra mile to help me succeed. Now that I’m almost grown, I see my mom for who she truly is, an amazing woman who I would be lost without. When I was younger I did not realize how much my mom truly did for me, and now I know I could never thank her enough.
Thank you for having my back even when I was wrong.
I know that I’m not right all the time (only like 99 percent), but I want to thank you for always standing with me even when you knew I was wrong. I’m not sure what I would do without your support and determination. Even though difficult times, I knew if I turned around, you would always be there. I hope that I can support my future children the way you have supported me.
Thank you for loving me during those middle school years.
Yes, I agree I was the most dramatic 13-year-old imaginable. Thank you for standing beside me though all of the the petty girl drama, through my awkward stage, and though the I-cannot-go-to-school-because-of-this-pimple stage. You always had a way of making feel alright in the end. Looking back, I have no idea how you handled all of the crazy situations I got myself into, but I want you to know that I appreciate all of the car rides and shopping dates you took me on. Even though I didn’t know it at the time, you knew what I needed and never failed to help me get though.
Thank you for teaching me what it means to be a friend.
I know you are my mom, but I can honestly say you taught me how to be a friend by the relationship we share. You are my very best friend and for that I thank you. You taught me what it means to be a friend and you showed me every day.
Thank you for supporting me.
I haven’t told you enough how thankful I am for all of your support in life. You have always encouraged me to do and be my very best. You never let me settle and I thank you for that. You were always there to help me find my way. Your guidance has helped me get to where I am, and there are no other words I can say other than thank you for the impact your guidance and support has made on my life.
Thank you for always being honest with me.
And for telling me what I need to hear even when it's not what I want to hear. You have taught me so much and I hope I can be just as wonderful at being a mom as you. I love you, Mom!
