A Thank You To My Funniest Friend

You give me life.

A Thank You To My Funniest Friend
Leah Grace Thompson and Emma Nelson

We all have that one friend that makes us laugh so hard we pee, or have a headache from giggling all day without fail. You are that friend. There is no one else on this earth I laugh harder around than you. We feed off each other's side comments and always know what each other is looking at. You kill me daily so here's to you, thank you for giving me a jaw ache from chuckling daily.

Thank you for always picking up what I'm putting down

We can have a conversation about absolutely anything. I can text you a list of words from the auto correct suggestion box and you'll play along like everything is totally normal. You always know exactly what I'm trying to say and you make it even better with every little side comment. I try to explain our dynamic to my other friends and they just don't get it. There's nothing like giving each other "the look" and just cracking up because some old man is fondling a chunky chihuahua on the beach.

Thankful for our drunk FaceTimes

I can always count on you to answer FaceTime and share in our ridiculous nights together. One of us isn't going to remember the call but we're probably going to speak in tongues the entirety of the conversation anyway because vodka makes you wild and it makes everything 300 times funnier. You have a way with words and hearing about each other's ridiculous escapades when we're apart during the school year is one of my favorite pastimes.

And for your daily weird Snap Chats

There is nothing better than opening one of your pieces of art on full sound in the middle of the grocery store when you're signing something like "baby got back" for absolutely no reason. We have no shame on snap and it's a relentless streak of you pretending to be and old Jewish grandmother named "Bubbie" with the towel and chain glasses filter and me crying laughing in return. I know if I need a laugh all I have to do is Snapchat you literally anything and you'll answer with some nonsense that will make me crack up.

I laugh thinking about you laughing at something

Whether it be going through your re-vines or retweets, or just something I texted you, I automatically start dying imagining you laughing at something just chuckling at your phone screen. And then I just automatically wish we were together laughing at it at the same time. Sometimes I'll see something ridiculous while driving like a large man in a smart car or an old lady wiping her feet with leaves on the roadside (this happened yesterday) and I'll just crack up thinking about how funny we could make the situation if we were together. Thank you for having a lasting presence in my life even when we're 500 miles away from each other during the school year, you still kill me without even trying.

Just thank you for your friendship

I am so lucky to have a friend like you. Someone that never judges me, always makes me belly laugh, and someone that is no drama and I can always be happy around. I'm so thankful to have such a genuine and hilarious friend that I know will always be there to make me pee my pants from laughing. And as much as I try, I just can't explain to anyone else the way we get along. You are the Dwight to my Jim (without the fighting) and if I ever find a boy that can make me laugh harder than you, I would probably have to marry him.

Thank you for all the laughs, may they never ever stop.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
