An Open Letter To My Boyfriend

I know that this is going to be cheesy, but there are so many things that I don’t thank you enough for. From the first moment I met you I knew you were something special, not only did you love to binge watch Netflix and order take out as much as I do. But you made me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world and you made me feel safe for once.

I’m extremely glad that you walked into my life, because you are such a huge part of it now. You have always accepted me, even at my lowest points. You have given me such confidence when it comes to doing what I want to do and not worrying about what others will think about it. There are a million things that I could thank you for and words will never cover it, but here are a few.

1. Thank you for always supporting me

Not only can I count on you to always encourage me to reach all of my goals, work hard in school and to even pick up extra shifts at work. But no matter what life challenge I’m facing, I know I can turn to you and you’ll support whatever decision I end up making.

2. Thank you for being there for me when I get over emotional

Yes, I am an emotional person, but thank you for accepting that. No matter how many times I’ve cried over something or worried over something, thank you for just holding me and reassuring me that my life isn’t falling apart. You’re always there to pick up the pieces.

3. Thank you for loving food just as much as I do

Probably a majority of our income does go to food, but some of my favorite memories are trying new restaurants with you and cooking at home with you. Especially because I am not the best cook compared to you, but I have 0 complaints about it.

4. Thank you for accepting me

Even though my past is a little bumpy, I mess up sometimes and I’m far from perfect. Thank you for accepting me no matter what.

5. Thank you for being my best friend

“doing life” with someone you love is one of the best feelings. I know at the end of a hard day, I can count on seeing you and having your goofy self cheer me up. You’re the one I can always go to for anything, I know no matter what happens in our life, you’ll always be one of my best friends.

6. Thank you for opening up to me

It’s amazing to know that no matter what has happened in your life, you don’t hesitiate to tell me. No matter if it was some of your deepest secrets or some of your hardest times. I will always be there for you to vent to, help you with life challenges or whatever is going on in your life because I know you’d do the same for me.

7. Thank you for being serious

Even though sometimes I can’t take you seriously, especially because how much you joke around. Thank you for taking important things like us, our future and how we can improve ourselves seriously. Even though you’re one of the silliest people I know, when it comes time to be serious, caring or when something bad happens, you switch right away.

8. Thank you for being exactly who you are

I couldn’t imagine going through life without you. Your passion for life inspires me every single day, even when you’re exhausted and completely want to just sleep in, you still get up and do what you have to do. You always make me want to improve myself and my life in general.

You are so much more than my boyfriend. You’re one of my best friends, my go to dinner date, cheerleader (especially when I cant finish cosmos at dinner), my pillow and my confidence booster. I’m so grateful that you’re in my life and I know no matter what life throws at us, we can face it together.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
