A Thank You To All Teachers

It takes a big heart to help shape little minds.

A Thank You To All Teachers
Huffingtonpost

With the school year just peeking around the corner, it is safe to say that teachers do not get enough credit. Every school year we encounter new teachers that will either make us love or hate school. But the things is they all have one goal, and that is to educate us... I mean that's the reason why we're in school in the first place right?

I get it, some teachers could use a little pep in their monotoned mannerisms, or to be more understanding. But being a teacher isn't easy. It takes someone special to have that type of courage and patience to want to stand up every day in front of many. So I'm going to take this time to thank the teachers that I had and to the ones that I never encountered. This is for you and for all the things that you do.

1. Thank you for always being patient.

Truthfully, having to deal with mood swings, is not fun. Getting frustrated will always be inevitable but I adore all teachers drive of never giving up, and truthfully we wouldn't be where we are now as your past students without all your help.

2. Thank you for all the compliments.

Compliments are awesome, and we can all agree on that. And whenever we would do something right such as getting a good grade from a test, a simple "great job" from you always make our day. It makes us feel ecstatic, to be honest, not only that but it really motivates us.

3. Thank you for all the stories.

To be honest with you half of the time those stories that you tell us is just to kill time when we're just not feeling lecture, and half of the time we actually learn from them and it sticks to us. We appreciate them and we hope that you will continue to tell those stories for the future generation.

4. Thank you for always supporting us.

From always motivating us to reach for our dreams, to telling us to never give up no matter how hard things get, and pretty much becoming like second parents to us... we thank you.

5. Thank you for always challenging us.

Let's be real, we totally didn't like the fact that you challenged us. We usually throw a fit over it which accumulates to us having an attitude towards you. So we apologized for that. If anything thank you for challenging us, because we certainly learned from them, somehow. Challenge is always good because it will only drive us to be better overall.

The big picture here is teachers never get enough credit for what they do. It's not easy. I'm sure there were some tears, some laughter, and some aggravated venting shed in this profession. You certainly have made some kind of difference in each and every one of us. You drove us to be better and to always reach for our dreams. Your passion and faith in us are truly inspiring.

And to all the future teachers out there, continue what you're doing. Believe me, it's a very rewarding profession in which allows you to make a difference in the world of education.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
