You always see articles on the internet about people who do not tip and how terrible they are. Well, this is not one of those articles. This article is to thank those people who do tip. There are not enough articles out there to say thank you to the people who go out and take care of their waitstaff. I just want to take the time to say thank you from all servers.

I love serving and working in the service industry it really is a lot of fun. You get to wait on so many amazing people and it is laid back and you get to have so much fun. It is also a great money maker, there are always nights that suck but there are also amazing nights. This all depends on the amount of people in the restaurant and how well they tip.

Servers get paid $2.13 an hour and that all goes to taxes. The only way we make money is by tips. I know how great it feels to take care of a table all night long and they run up a super high tab and then you look at the check and they tipped you even more than 20%. That is the best feeling in the world. It really makes you appreciate those kinds of people. I know I always feel so thankful to even see 20% these days.

The holidays are a tough time for everyone when it comes to money. With everyone needing to buy Christmas presents going out to eat and spending money is not on the top of everyone's list. So it is so heartwarming to see people leave a big tip at Christmas because we need to buy presents, too.

So to wrap this article up I just want to say thank you again from everyone in the service industry. You have no idea how much your tip means and how your tip can change a whole shift for someone. You really brighten a day and make your server smile when you take care of them. Just always remember that your tip means everything to them. You have the power to make somone's day.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
