Dear Mom and Dad,
Thank you. Seriously.
Thank you for everything you have ever done for me, and continue to still do. From the day I was born, to now, you have always supported me and given me all of the the tools I needed to be successful. It's not that I've never appreciated the things that you've done for me, because I definitely have. I think it's just the older I get, the more I begin to understand the magnitude of everything. You've both done so much, and I just don't know how to thank you. Where do I even begin?
Thank you for putting me in dance and keeping me in it. I know that classes were expensive. I know all of the leotards, tights, shoes, costumes, added up. The classes and rehearsals, it was a lot. I know it had to cost a lot, and that it was extremely time consuming. But you never complained. You always made sure I was in class. You always made sure I had everything I needed. You were there for every performance. Thank you.
But it's not like I was just a dancer when I was growing up, that probably would have made your lives a lot easier. But no, I had to try to do everything: Basketball, karate, gymnastics, I wanted to do it all. And you let me. There would be days where I would go from school, to basketball, then to dance. Or from school, to dance, then karate. And it's not like these places were close to each other either. I had you guys driving all around town, just for me. Thank you.
High school is another big thing. I know tuition and my uniforms weren't cheap. It was far away from home and even farther away from your jobs. But you both still managed to get me there every day...literally. I got perfect attendance freshmen and junior year. I also had to stay late at for the majority of the four years because of dance, and you never complained. Thank you.
And now I am going to a college that is out-of-state. A college that is five hours away. You could've made me attend a college in state, where tuition would be cheaper, and closer where I would be closer. But you knew that's what I didn't want to do. Thank you.
So mom and dad, thank you. Thank you for everything. Thank you for always believing in me. Thank you for always letting me know that you love me. Thank you for always being someone I can talk to. Thank you for always supporting me in everything that I do. Thank you for not only being my friends, but also my parents. Most of all, thank you for being my parents, and for loving me unconditionally.
