The day has finally come for the fandom that calls themselves "Directioners." YES, "Made In The A.M." is finally out. This is moment we’ve all been waiting for. Let me just tell you, that heart-dropping feeling I got when I saw that iTunes was downloading the CD to my phone a half hour early was the best feeling ever. This is more than just a CD to the fans, it’s a gift given to us from the four lads who call themselves One Direction. It’s a sign saying that they are still here for the long run, even if they are down one member.
I just finished my whole first listen of the CD. I listened to it in full order. This is by far the most artistic, diverse CD of theirs and of any CD’s that I have listened to recently. I’m so emotional right now, it’s a tad bit embarrassing. Here I am 22-year-old college senior, laying in my bed, in tears from a song that I have heard for the first time, and yes, this isn’t the first time these four lads have brought me to tears. “If I Could Fly” and “Walking In The Wind” pulled on my heart strings and I cried. Music hardly ever does that to me, but those songs did. “I Want To Write You A Song” is the cutest song I’ve ever heard, if any man ever sings that to me, I’d marry him in a heartbeat.
The boy’s voices have matured so much. Harry is husky and dreamy and damn him, he killed me with those riffs. *heart eyes emoji*. Niall hits all the spots and continues to prove that he can sing and isn’t just the cute Irish one who plays the guitar. Liam’s voice (In my opinion) has changed the most. Multiple times I had to be like “wait who is that?! Holy crap it’s Liam!” And that leaves us with Louis…Louis dear…WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING THESE PAST FIVE YEARS? I had no clue you could sing like that; bravo Louis, bravo.
I knew I built up this CD and wanted it to be perfect, but man has it exceeded my expectations by a million miles!!! I will never get sick of listening and I can pick any song to fit any of my moods. I’m happy they did what they wanted and sang about more mature topics; a majority of their fans have grown up with them and are the same ages as them. So it only seems fitting to show how we all have aged.
Great job, lads. Now enjoy that much needed break. We all can live off of this CD until you are ready to come back, and we, the fandom, will be here waiting with bated breath and open arms for whatever you have planned.
I know we are all scared you will not come back, but I trust your promises and you can count on me to be that girl yelling things not suitable for children to hear at your next tour. We love you and thank you for all that you have done for us these past five years. I know you don’t personally know me and I the same, but without you my life would not be the same, I wouldn’t be where I am today, and it's crazy scary just thinking about where I would be if I hadn’t found One Direction.
As Harry would say, "all the love."
