If your youth pastors are anything like mine, then you know that these people are like a second family, and they accept you into their own family. From the first day I met this fun, loving couple, I desired the love and relationship that they had with God. Even after all of these years have gone by, I have never thanked them for.
Thank you for listening to all my problems, and praying with me over them.
You just know exactly what to say and when to say it, and I am very glad that you don’t hold back your feelings or your comments. I know that if I ever need anything, you are always there to listen to me vent.
Thank you for laughing with me when I do/say something crazy.
Youth Pastor: “So Joy, What weighs more a ton of gold or a ton of feathers?”
Me: “Umm, is this a trick question? I’m thinking a ton of feathers”
You never judge actions or words and you always know how to have fun, but also when to be serious.
Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge.
There are so many things and so many opportunities that I now have, and it is all because of you. You share your experiences with me, and I learn from them. You teach me the deeper meaning of scripture and of God’s love, and I learn. You guide me down paths that previously I had no idea existed, and I follow them.
Thank you for giving up your time to teach me.
I know you have a busy life and a family waiting for you at home, but you willingly devote countless hours a week into the enrichment of the lives of many young people. I know you don’t have to be a youth pastor, you want to. Wednesdays will come when you have to put your family in front of the youth group, and for that, I understand. What you don’t know, is that you have impacted the lives of countless teens, and changed their life for the better. I love you and I thank you.
You are my inspiration, you show me how to be a better person and how to overcome obstacles, that otherwise I would’ve had to face alone. Deep down, I know that because I have you in my life, I will never have to face anything alone.
