A Thank You Letter To My Sorority Big

Dear big,

As I prepare to recieve my first little, I can't help but think about how our relationship has grown in the past six months. Seeing as how I had only talked to you a few times before I found out you were my big, we were a little awkward at first. Now we have a great relationship and I couldn't imagine anyone else as my big!

Thank you for being there for me. Seeing as how you are a junior and I am a senior, I was probably not the ideal little, but fom Initiation to the stress of taking my first little, you have been there for support and advice. Without you I don't think I would be ready to take this next step in our sisterhood. Thank you for the answers to my annoying questions that somehow you always have an answer for. Thank you for dealing with my stress when I text you a five-page message about an event that is so long away I shouldn't be worrying about yet.

Thank you for Big/Little week. As Littles, I don't think we say this enough. We get a whole week of not knowing who you are and you spoil us with gifts, but do we even thank you once we know who you are? Also, thank you for the help I am about to recieve from you during Big/Little week. Whether you are my gift delivery person or the support I need when I am up till three in the morning crafting for the newest member of our family, I know you will be of great help this week.

Lastly, t5hank you for being you. The love you have for me makes me the luckiest Little ever! Thank you for showing me how to be a Big and how I can still grow in our chapter. You are one of my best friends and the greatest gift I have ever recieved. Thanks again for everything.

ALAM,

Little

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
