A Thank You Letter To My Future Husband

Thank you for dealing with me through my ups and downs. I am a mess, I don't know if that is good or bad, but I am a mess. I am sporadic, annoying, overemotional, and crazy, but you like that. I get mad at you over the dumbest things, and you don't hesitate to take the blame. I know I can be a handful 110 percent of the time, but thank you for loving me, regardless.

Thanks for eating my food. You asked me to marry you, so you obviously don't mind that I can't cook. I could burn water. Thanks for grabbing a Little Caesars pizza when I ruin $30 worth of groceries. Thanks for always telling me that I look beautiful, and truly meaning it, even though I will probably never accept the compliment. Thanks for giving up your "guy time" to binge-watch Netflix with me for three hours.

Thanks for taking me out on dates and wanting to show me off to the world. You spend you hard-earned money on me, which means a lot. Thanks for letting me steal food off your plate, and for stealing mine. Thanks for taking 1,000,000 pictures with me, just so I can get that one perfect picture. Thanks for going shopping with me, although I know you hate it.

Thanks for supporting all of my crazy ideas. You know that I will never follow through with them, but you are still supportive. I can not make up my mind about anything, yet you do not get upset with me. Also, thanks for letting me transform your bland home into an adorable, very feminine place to live.

Thanks for being my shoulder to lean on. No life is perfect; there will be tragedies at some point. Thanks for being my rock. Thanks for holding me when I cry and telling me everything will be okay, even when you know it won't. I will be your rock, too. Thanks for cheering me up and helping keep a smile on my face, even when we can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for acting like an idiot and embarrassing me in public, I secretly like it. Thanks for the cheesy jokes and puns—they are really great. Thanks for correcting my grammar and laughing at the eye roll I give when you do.

Thanks for making me feel safe and protecting me. Thanks for killing every single solitary bug that enters our home, because I am one huge chicken. Thanks for taking care of me when I'm sick and understanding my life when it is "that time."

Thanks for loving God and putting him first in your life. Thanks for being a God-fearing man and helping lead me closer to God. Thanks for inspiring me with your love for God, which radiates from you.

Thanks for not being perfect. Thanks for not buying me flowers every week, and revolving your life around me. Thanks for not fitting the description of every other Facebook post about "the perfect guy." You are perfect just the way you are. Thanks for still going out with the guys, getting mad at me, and just being dumb sometimes. Thanks for keeping me humble and encouraging me. Thanks for being you, because you make life better.

Thanks for the occasional flowers though.

Thanks for being amazing.

Thanks for loving me, for me.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
