It is incredibly easy to be busy in today's society. We are constantly moving, changing and growing. Unfortunately, it is incredibly easy to forget to be thankful. Now that this year has reached mother's day, we all begin to become thankful for our beloved mothers. We are all thankful for their love, their support, and their strength. Because I forget to tell my mother thank you; I took time to write my own mother a thank you letter.
Dear Mom,
Thank you.
Thank you for giving birth to me, caring for me, teaching me and being patient with me. But also, thank you for loving me unconditionally.
Thank you for being patient with me when I wouldn't listen. Thank you for taking the time to listen to me when I needed to vent. Thank you for all those times you made me laugh when I really felt like crying. Thank you for rushing to my side when I had busted knees or a broken heart.
Thank you for telling me I was the prettiest thing you had ever seen when that boy in seventh grade told me I was ugly. Thank you for explaining to me why people could be so mean when those girls in eighth told me they didn't like me. Thank you for pushing me to work hard when I struggled in ninth grade. Thank you for telling me no when I wanted to gauge my ears in 10th grade. Thank you for making me sit down and write those essays when in 11th grade I procrastinated in the hardest high school English class. Thank you for telling me to follow my heart when in 12th grade, I panicked about college.
Thank you for all those times you made me laugh when I really felt like crying. Thank you for always asking if I needed anything. Thank you for putting my needs before yours. Thank you for being strong for me. Thank you for never giving up on me. Thank you for encouraging me to chase my passions.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I will never be able to thank you enough for what you have done for me. Everything I am, my entire being, is because of you. I am who I am today because of you.
