A Thank You Letter To The Love Of My Life

Most people say that knowing who the love of my life is at this age is absolutely crazy. I, on the other hand, think they’re the crazy ones because when you know, you know. It’s hard to picture what my life would be like without you. It’s even harder to imagine what my life was like before you became a part of it. You have played such an important role in my life and have made me the happiest I have ever been. I’ve said it all before and I’ll say it again, but there are so many things I want to thank you for.

Thank you for loving me, especially when I don’t deserve it. No matter how difficult I may be, you have never stopped loving me. I know how much of a pain I can be, especially when it comes to picking out a restaurant to go to. Despite that, you have always remained patient and kind. Thank you for telling me multiple times a day that you love me. Being told that I am loved time and time again will never get old. Your kindness, words, and actions have always made me feel so loved.

Thank you for all of the gestures you do to show me that you love me. Always opening the car door for me, rubbing my back when I’m tired, bringing me flowers just because, or picking up my favorite candy at the store, you have always made sure that, in some way, you show me that I’m loved.

Thank you for always being patient with me. I know how indecisive I can be. No matter how many times I change my mind with what I’m going to wear on our date, “take your time” is always your response. Thank you for always telling that I’m beautiful and for always trying to build up my self-esteem. Even when I’m in sweatpants with no makeup on, you still reassure me that I’m the most beautiful girl in the world.

Thank you for always being willing to help me when I’m in need. Whether that’d be driving me to work, helping me carry heavy things, or moving me in and out of my college dorm, you’ve always shuffled your schedule around to help. Thank you for always making me your top priority, for always wanting me to be a part of your life, as well as mine. Thank you for putting my wants and needs first. Thank you for treating me like the most important part of your life.

Thank you for always supporting me, even if you don’t always agree. No matter what I do in life, I know that I will always have your love and support. Thank for you being my biggest cheerleader, attending all of my recitals, dances, and award ceremonies. Thank you for caring, and wanting to be there for me.

Thank you for always listening to me. When I have a bad day, I always turn to you because I know you’ll listen and care about how I’m feeling. Thank you for giving me advice and for telling me what I need to hear, even when I don’t want to hear it. Thank you for keeping me sane during the most stressful parts of my life. When I have a million things to do and no time to do it, you always calm me down and help me get everything done.

Thank you for holding my hand on the bad days. I know we have had our fair share of them, but you have never wanted to give up. Even when I am at my worst, you have always been there for me, willing to listen and help me with whatever I need. Thank you for always finding the silver lining when I can’t. Thank you for always cheering me up. Whether it’d be telling a joke that you think is funny, (let’s be real, I’m the funny one in this relationship,) making that silly face that you know I love, or trying to tickle me, you always know how to make me laugh and make me feel better.

Most importantly, thank you for being you. You have made me so incredibly happy in the time that we have been together. You have become not only the love of my life, but my rock, support system and my best friend. You have gone from a mere stranger to my entire world. I have never felt so much love from someone in my entire life. Thank you for being the reason behind my smile and happiness. I can’t wait to see what our future holds for us. I love you more than you’ll ever know.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
