Thank You Letter To My Former Coaches

Dear former coaches,

I want to start by thanking you for taking part in getting me to where I am as an athlete today. I would not have been able to be in the position I am now without all the time and effort you put into me as a person and an athlete. I never thanked you enough for giving me the opportunity to play at my full potential.

Thank you for teaching me more about how to be a good person and teammate than just how to be a good athlete. You taught me that the sum is greater than the parts. If you're team is getting better, then you are individually getting better. I have a determination to win because of you. My will to get better started with you pushing me to be that way.

I might not have been the most skilled at what we were doing in practice every single day, but you never gave up on me. I cannot thank you enough for never giving up on me as an athlete. You were there through all of it. The good, the bad, and the unbelievable moments were all accompanied by you. Thank you for being there through every part of my athletic career.

Thank you for all of the extra training you put in. The long individual training sessions trying to build my ability as a player. You took as much time as it needed to get me where I needed to be. You pushed me to do more than what I thought I was capable of. You pushed me to be better than my best. That is a lesson I will always keep with me.

Thank you for being a coach I could trust. You were someone I could lean on whenever things were not going my way. You always had my back and you made sure I knew that. It was obvious you wanted to train me to help me get to the next level. Because of you, I was given that opportunity and I have you to thank for that. The work you helped me put in behind the scenes made me the player that I am today.

Every time I come back to my high school field, I can't help but smile remembering all of the great times I had on that field. Not everyone is blessed with a coach that they can continue to have a relationship with after the games have come to an end. I appreciate the belief you put in me. Your belief made me believe in myself as a player.

Thank you for everything you have done for me as a coach. I can never repay you for the lessons you taught me. You have tremendously impacted my life, and I still use those lessons to this day. Because of you I have been given the opportunity to still pursue my sport in college. This is an opportunity I couldn't have ever imagined without your help and support. Your support has mean't the world to me. I can never truly thank you enough for everything you have done for me.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
