A year ago I was sitting in my room at home nervous for my first my year away at college. I was convinced that I would have to fake a smile and put on a happy front for four years. I believed that I wouldn’t make any close friends and that I would spend the entire time waiting for it to end. I couldn’t have been more wrong and that’s thanks to you two.
I remember when we first met. I was nervous and unsure of how we would get along. Like everyone else, I had heard the horror stories of people who had gone in blind for roommates and had ended up hating the people that they were living with. I figured it would be no different for us, but I’ve never been happier to be wrong.
In fact, going in blind for roommates couldn’t have worked out more perfectly because it introduced me to you two and the two of you became two of my best friends. I could not be more happy with how everything ended up. So I just wanted to take a second to thank you both.
Thank you for deciding to hang out with your roommates. Our friendship started because we all decided to take time to hang out together and to get to know each other. Any of us could have chosen to stay in our respective rooms in the first semester, but we didn't. So thank you for choosing to hang out with your roommate.
Thank you for always being there for me and for always having an open door. It never mattered what time it was or how busy you were, I knew I could always come to either of you if I needed someone and I cannot express how much that means to me. It was comforting to know that all I had to do was knock on your door and you would be there for me. It's hard adjusting to living away from home and to college classes, but knowing that I had friends who were there for me helped to make this year so much easier.
Thank you for all of the memories. I know we’ve only known each other about nine months, but we have made so many amazing memories already. From random late night drives to silly pranks, we’ve already done so much. Thinking of all of our jokes and memories never fails to make me smile and I can’t wait to see what other memories we have yet to make.
Finally, thank you for being you. You are both such amazing, wonderful people and I want only the best in life for both of you. I have so much love for both of you and I'm so thankful we became friends. You both help to make the world a better place simply by being yourselves so please never stop being you.
