The world changed on January 20, 2006. Ten years ago, a Disney Channel Original Movie swept the nation. "High School Musical" will forever be a classic, and we will never be the same. Three movies later, and we're still obsessed. It's time we recognized this movement in a proper, deserving manner it deserves. And so, thank you, "High School Musical." Kenny Ortega, we owe you one.
Thank you for teaching us that if Troy Bolton doesn't care about what other people think, neither should we.

Thank you for telling us to always go for our dreams.
Especially if hip hop is your passion, like Martha. You go girl.
Thank you for encouraging us to be ourselves.
Even if we're evil high school theatre stars who try to ruin people's lives.
And thank you for Sharpay's unreal (usually absurd) one-liners.
"I'd rather stick pins in my eyes."
Thank you for giving us the absolute best song in the history of the world. (Dramatic, but true.)
CHILLS. I wonder what Drew Seeley's up to these days.
Thank you for
Thank you for the choreography that will forever be ingrained into our brains.
And for the always relevant, incredibly quotable lyrics.
We really are all in this together.
Thank you for true #FriendshipGoals.
(No matter how annoying Chad is most of the time. Or all the time.) It's not personal, Corbin. But sometimes you treated Troy like he was such an awful friend and teammate, and it was really unfair if I'm gonna be honest with you. And in "High School Musical 2," he's so stressed about his future, and sure, he should've been a little nicer to you guys, but he's not evil, so CHILL. Thanks for letting me rant haha.
Thank you for teaching us that creme brûlée is a creamy, custard-like filling with a caramelized surface.
It's really satisfying.
Thank you for reminding us that we're not the same, we're different in a good way.
Don't roll your eyes at me, Vanessa Anne Hudgens!
Thank you for photos like this.

And for bringing these two people together and giving us so many reasons to cry for so many years. #ZanessaForever
And for this scene.
Most importantly, thank you, employee of the most important ski lodge in America.
You singlehandedly changed our world.
Thank you for the reunion of our dreams.

(Without the man of our dreams.) I'm not still crying, are you?
Once a wildcat, always a wildcat.
