When we first met, I was still broken and so were you. We took things slow, but our feelings were always there. A fast-growing friendship turned into a blossoming love. Both coming from darker pasts, we helped heal each other. Our story, unique in itself, is as wonderful as the person you are.

We met on a whim, a night that typically wouldn’t have happened. You walked in and took my breath away. We planned on just watching a movie, but ended up talking for hours. Time slipped away from us like we had known each other forever. Every day I learn something new about you and every day I fall more and more in love.

Thank you for showing me what love is again. After years of trying to find myself again, you’ve shown me what’s it’s like to be cared about. Romance and love might not be your second-nature, but you’re trying so hard. You spoil me rotten and treat me like a princess, thank you. I know now that I need you in my life but I know you also need me.

Thank you for putting up with my crazy friends and family. I presume you never thought you'd be acquiring a whole family when you started seeing me, well guess again. You are so easy-going and truly care about my friends. You fit in so well with my crazy family, which can be hard to do. You are so patient with my roommates and understanding when they need me more.

Thank you for driving me absolutely crazy. Those little things, that I fell in love with are also the little things that drive me mad. You know the ones that are making you laugh as you read this. You are messy, lazy, and somewhat childish; but I am organized, energetic, and childish too. Your traits intertwine with mine and together we fit like puzzle pieces. Each distinct, but fit perfectly together.

Thank you for loving me. I know I can be difficult and I can be quite stubborn. I understand that I am high-maintenance and always anxious, but thank you for accepting that. You are open to my flaws and accepting of everything about me. You never make me feel different and always welcome my troubles with a listening ear and a hug.
