Thank you for dealing with me for the past 18 years, and for being the best parents any girl could ever ask for.
I love you like Kanye loves Kanye.
Dear Mom and Dad,
Thank you does not even come close to how thankful I am for both of you and the sacrifices you have made for me. I have no idea where I would be without both of you. Now that I'm in college. I can't imagine what it's like being in your position. Being the first one of your kids to go to college is scary because the both of you sometimes have no idea what I am talking about or what I am going through. But knowing everything you both have done for me makes the scared feeling go away.
I never said it enough while I was home, so I am going to say it now: thank you. Also, thank you for accepting me (although both of you claim I’m adopted) and for liking all my music. Shout out to you, dad, for always making Kanye references.
Some of the most important lessons you gave me, I could never thank you enough for. As I got older, you taught me so many things, such as standing up for myself and never taking anything from anyone. Although both of you think I'm sassy you guys always let me know how proud you are of me. I've never been the girl that stays quiet-- I always speak my mind because I believe it's important to be honest to others, but also to myself.
Besides that, one of the most important things you taught me is the importance of school. You yelled at me after I got a poor grade back, but I wouldn't be the student I am today without the occasional scolding for a 65 on a test. Now that I’m in college, I can honestly say that it was one of the best things both of you did. Although sometimes it may seem that I’m hard on myself, it makes me work harder.
Thank you for accepting that I’m not a perfect child. I make so many stupid mistakes and both of you are always understanding of the dumb things I do because you know you did them too.
Lastly, thank you for keeping up with me. I know both of you get tired of me. It's always fun whenever I FaceTime you, despite you always wanting to hang up so bad. I miss both of you so much. Thanks for always being there and listening to me, even though half the time you both ignore my calls. Thanks for always listening to my crazy stories about almost dying while I'm at college. Most importantly, thanks for teaching me how to be a hard-worker and to reach towards my goals... and for always laughing at my bad jokes.
Sincerely,
Your daughter in college
