Thank You For Being Like A Brother To Me
Lora Howard

You're my best friend, my brother.

I have known you for our whole life. We have been through so much together, through hell and back. We have argued, fussed, fight but we have always made up. Of course that is going to happen between us because we have known each other for so long. Over 16 years to be exact...

Thank you for always, I mean ALWAYSbeing there for me. You were there for me for all of my hardest times in life and always have comforted me. From break ups and deaths in my family, you were always there for me to have a shoulder to cry on. Thank you for being there, it means so much to me, more than you'll ever know!

I love how we can just drive and free style or sing about anything or just sit and talk. You have always been a great listener and always willing to talk to me no matter what time of the day it is. Even if its two in the morning you always answer your phone when I call. And I hope you know that you can call me anytime too.

I am so glad we had our graduation party together with our three other friends and families. We were all surrounded by people that we love and I am so glad we got to celebrate our graduation with them. That was so much fun and so memorable.

WE ARE FAMILY.

Thank you for letting me be a part of your family, for calling me your sister. I am so happy and blessed to have your parents as my parents, your older brother as my brother and you as my brother, too. I can always count on you all for anything! My family is your family and your family is my family. I am so blessed that our families are so close and that we can go on vacations together like we have in the past and we need to do it again soon!

Cheering with you was probably the best memories we had in high school together. We always had a good time cheering on the sideline, goofing off and laughing uncontrollably. From our handshakes we made at practice to letting me use your megaphone at the games using my "man voice," those were the good times and years. Sometimes I wish we can go back to the glory days and live it all over again!

Thank you for always being my date at the dances and for always buying my dinner. You were the best date I've ever had! You made the dances more fun because I was going with my brother!

YOUR CHICKEN CASSEROLE IS TO DIE FOR!! (So does our momma's.) Thank you for always making it for dinner when I come over, you know you and I can eat the whole thing!

All in all, thank you, thank you for being my brother even though we aren't blood. You always know what the right things to say to me when I need to hear it. You aren't afraid to be blunt and honest with me even if I don't want to hear it but I still appreciate it. Thank you for always having my back through everything I have gone through in life. Thank you for always having a guest bed for me to sleep in when I don't feel like going home. Thank you for letting me come over unannounced. A huge thank you for never judging me on my poor decisions and choices I've made in my life. You have never judged me once. Thank you for supporting me through school and in life in general. And most importantly,

Thank you for being my best friend. I love you brother.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
