The sixth season is finally in the books. Well, not really. The sixth season is indeed ahead of the books, and depending on what George R. R. Martin is thinking with that genius (and slightly murderous) mind, they may never be on paper! Regardless, the world cannot get enough of this unpredictable story and I am no exception. It also appears that after every episode I am finding new people who are hooked on the show as well. I know because I may be talking to them and they will mention that they just watched the episode or I'll see them post about the latest bombshell dropped. Now that the season is over, I find this would be a good time to thank the fellow fans of mine for another great season. (Warning: Spoilers!)
First, I'd like to thank my personal watching group. Whether it was a friend coming over with their HBO Now account, or having the house with better WiFi for streaming, we all came together to make sure we would all stay updated on the show. Also thanks for the food provided until we would lose our appetite due to a head being crushed against a wall. Extra thanks to The Mountain on that one,
Next, thank you to my fellow fans for the fantastic theories before the episodes. Sometimes we were right, sometimes we were wrong, and sometimes we'd be sitting there knowing we called it until Tommen declared trial by combat illegal. Other episodes, we didn't even know we should have had a theory until Hodor started holding the door. Honestly though, who saw that coming?
Thank you for your contradicting and unpopular opinions. That would be those of you who supported Ramsey Bolton in the so dubbed: Bastard Bowl. I was supporting him as well, but only his decision to not feed his dogs for a week. That worked out great for Sansa and the Starks.
The biggest thank you I can give is for realizing not all of us can watch the episode as soon as it comes out, AND remember to stay away from social media to avoid the spoilers that are posted. Most of you were great and wouldn't post anything about it on Sunday night, and when you did, it didn't give anything away (Though I was pretty sure I knew what was going on he constant stream of Jon Snow pictures hit my timeline) This is especially important because as of writing this, I haven't seen the final episode yet. That still doesn't stop me from scrolling faster whenever I see "GoT" on my timeline, and coincidentally makes me watch the episode faster.
Unless George decides to put out the next book before April, we will stay in the dark for another year. That gives us plenty of time to stock up on new theories, save money to start up our next HBO subscription, and we can tweet freely about it knowing everyone is caught up. Well, except for me. Don't start tweeting just yet...
