A Thank You To The Squad I Met In College

Going away to college I had so much fear that I wouldn't find the 'right' group of friends, or any friends, for that matter. However only four weeks in and I found a group of girls I was sure I'd make my bridesmaids, I'd have mental breakdowns during finals with, and that I'd slowly learn a lot about, while they'd learn a lot about me too. These girls have not only taught me a lot, but have given me more laughs then I can count. So here are a few things I'd like to thank you for.

Thank you for showing me the correct way to do things. From how to put on makeup, to how to take a shot like a 'man' to the correct way to put on chapstick (I didn't know there was a wrong way either, trust me). I don't know how I survived without that.

Thank you for pushing me to my limits. All the time, in school and out, I was never told by these girls that I couldn't do something (besides like don't eat that bagel that's been in our mini fridge for a week, just don't.) You always inspired me to be the best me.

Thank you for showing me there is good in everyone, whether they seem to act like Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians or not. And also, showing me that there is good in me.

Thank you for hating the professors I hated, if you had them or not.

Thank you for being my sisters, the ones I've never had and for showing me love.

Thank you for understanding I didn't have the energy to go to the gym, but dragging me out of bed anyway.

Thank you for listening to my family and relationship past, and thank you for actually caring.

Thank you for dragging me to the library so we can get our work done first, then party later.

Thank you for listening to me complain about everything under the sun, and shutting me up when I get too annoying (because we all know I do).

Thank you for showing me true friendship.

Thank you for not minding when I got angry over dumb things, and thank you for calming me down right after.

Thank you for not letting me text the boys that aren't worth my time, and thank you for pushing me towards the guys who are.

Thank you for the late nights we spent doing dumb things.

Thank you for the late night "I can't sleep let's go do something" texts, because I love them so much.

Thank you for helping me pick out outfits, the endless amounts of outfits.

Thank you for letting me borrow clothes, then not getting mad at me if I ruined them or lost them.

Thank you for all the laughs, the good times and the bad, and all the memories you've given me that I'll cherish forever. Thank you for everything you've done for me, I love you guys. I'm not sure how I ever survived without you guys.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
