People say the friends you make during your first week of college won't end up being the people you remain friends with. In our case, that isn't true. We've known each other right from the beginning when we were all still nervous about being in a new place and sad about saying goodbye to our families. I'm happy I got to experience my whole first year with you. Here are a few things I want to thank you all for:
Thank you for helping me survive my classes. Whether that was helping me pick my classes, helping me study for my exams, editing my papers, or even bringing me snacks as encouragement because I am stressed, thank you. Thanks for making me go to class when I want to skip, helping me stay focused on homework when I get distracted by online shopping, and sharing your study guides with me. My classes definitely weren't easy, and I am glad I had the support of my friends to help me get through them.
Thank you for always being there. One of the best parts about college is that your friends are within walking distance. If I needed a shoulder to cry on, I know you would come right over no matter the time of day. If I needed advice or someone to run an errand with, I know you would gladly be of help. Thanks for never letting me eat alone, for helping me pack for trips, for helping to fold my laundry, and taking care of me when I'm sick.
Thank you for sharing everything with me. Whether it be music, clothes, shoes, nail polish, food, beds, silverware, chargers, tweezers, makeup, class notes, you name it, you are always kind enough to let me use or borrow your things. Thank you also for sharing your wisdom and advice, your houses and families, and your secrets with me.
Thank you for never judging me. You always accept me even when I eat only cake for dinner, skip the gym for embarrassingly long amounts of time, show up in sweats un-showered, and reveal my guilty pleasures. I know I can always tell you anything. I'm thankful that I can be completely myself around all of you.
Finally, thank you for being my family. I've only known you for a year, but it feels like I've known you my whole life. I wouldn't have been able to get through my first year of college without all of you, and I can't wait for the next three.
