After 10 months, five months spent as a Contributing Editor and five spent as Editor in Chief, this is my last article with The Odyssey and my last weekend as Editor in chief of Arcadia's Odyssey as graduation looms near and it felt appropriate to step down and pass the torch to another Arcadia student.
When thinking about what I would write for my last article I was conflicted: Should I try to write another "funny" article (I say that because I'm sure my articles are only funny to me)? Should I do something serious? Something political? Something about graduating in two weeks? I thought on it for a while, and came to the conclusion that, out of all my options, the best one is probably a thank you letter to The Odyssey.
So, thank you for allowing me to have the opportunity to become the Editor in Chief of a branch of what I truly believe will be one of the most important and long lasting sites for online media publication.
Thank you for allowing me to gain a large amount of publishing experience I never would have been able to get without this opportunity.
Thank you for letting me get my leg in the door of the publishing and editing industry.
Thank you for teaching me a lot about working with others and, in that process, teaching me a lot about myself as a leader.
Thank you for letting me work with so many talented writers.
Thank you for the feelings of pride I've had when I've watched my team succeed.
Thank you, and goodbye.
