We all remember our senior year of high school. It's hard to shake that invincible feeling; that feeling that no one, not even your parents, could bring you down. Your four years were up and you had your best friends standing next to you when it was all said and done. So what happened when you all went your separate ways for college? Maybe you stayed close despite the miles between you. Or maybe some friendships became parts of the things you remembered about your high school years. This article is dedicated to those friends who never let distance come between you. It's hard to stay friends with those you don't see or talk to everyday, but you've never let that be a problem. So because I can't thank you in person for a while, I decided to thank you online so the rest of the world can see how awesome you are!
Thank you for only being a phone call away.
Even though we may be miles apart, you're always ready to give me your take on things. The group chat is never dead, thanks to the constant telling's of our days. If I'm stressed, sad, or any other emotion—the words of comfort and gifs to cheer me up never stop. I know you all have homework, classes, and problems of your own, so thank you for taking time to help me out. Also, thanks for allowing me to procrastinate even more by having the aforementioned conversations with me.
Thank you for always being eager to make plans.
We may not have time to see each other until Thanksgiving, but you're always willing to throw out ideas and dates for when we do see each other. When life gets hard holding onto those plans get me through the week.
Thank you for not forgetting about me.
Your eagerness to make plans reassures me that you still want to have me in your life. Knowing that you want to hangout feels really good after watching you make new friendships through Snapchat and Instagram. Your new friends may be funnier but you still choose to listen to all my old jokes and terrible storytelling every time we see each other. Nothing is more comforting than coming home from my sometimes stress-filled life at school and sitting down on your couch swapping stories while we wait for cookies.
Change is good; that's true. But the transition from high school to college would've been such a big change if I didn't have you guys next to me every step of the way, even if our steps were miles, and states, apart. While some of you may now wear the dreaded cream and crimson, you've never let our friendships fade. Thank you for always being there, from high school until now. Your friendship means more to me than you may ever know!
