Joey,
Even though you’re younger, you’re now bigger and stronger than me. You’re always there for me when I need backup and validation. You always have my side, even when I’m wrong.
You make me laugh and you laugh at my stupid jokes even though you say you hate them (but I know you secretly love them).
You’re the only person who understands my undying love for 30 different men, whether they’re a character or a real person, like Mickey Milkovich, Jack Falahee, etc. I apologize for the obnoxious amount of texts and pictures I send you of all my loves.
We had some rough patches when we were kids, but you’ve grown to be my best friend. I can tell you anything and you’ll listen to me rant and cry and yell and what-not. I’m your big sister and I’m supposed to take care of you, but you never hesitate to take care of me. The amount of times you’ve been there when I’ve had mental breakdowns and cried so hard I couldn’t take is ridiculous. I wish I could find better words than “thank you” to explain to you how much it means to me that you’ve been there through all the ups, downs, and in betweens.
You deal with my terrible singing and you read through all my shitty drafts of poems and scripts I have to write for class. When I need a concert buddy, you’re more than willing to be right by my side. When I need someone to binge-watch every season of "American Horror Story" or "Shameless," you’re there in a heartbeat. When I need someone to make me dinner because I’m too impatient to deal with cooking, you’re there to make me something (and eat most of the food).
And I know if I ever have to enter a gummy eating competition, I have the best teammate in the world.
On a serious note, you’re my favorite person to talk to because we share the same sense of humor, we have the same doubts, and we have so many other things in common. Every time I come home and then have to leave again to go back to college, it’s hard to say goodbye. I’m so thankful that we’re able to talk every day, whether it’s about something serious like problems with friends or school, or just stupid things like how much that last episode of "How To Get Away With Murder" messed us up.
I love how you’ve introduced me to your best friends and they’ve all accepted me, and I’m so happy I was able to do the same. You’re not just my little brother, you’re my friends’ unofficial little brother.
You have the kindest, most genuine heart. You always try to make people happy, even when you’re having a bad day. You put everyone else first because you’re so selfless. You really are one of the best people in the world.
You’re the best little brother anyone could ask for.
Thank you for everything.
Love,
Christina
