We all know the struggle of getting somewhere after traveling for who knows how long and realizing the thing we most desperately need was left at home! Traveling can be extremely exciting, but it can also be extremely stressful if you don't plan. Here are some tips that I think every traveler needs to know before leaving to enjoy your trip without the added stress.

1. Make a Packing List!

Even though it can be annoying and time consuming, it is so worth it. Making a list not only helps you think straight, it also gives you time to remember those things that you might forget. Try to separate it into sections like clothes, shoes, bathroom items, etc.

2. Know Where You're Going.

Whether you're going to New York or New Delhi, you need to know the atmosphere of where you're going. Make sure you do your research so you know things like the climate, the environment and the currency. Wherever you're going, it's probably going to be at least somewhat different from where you came from.

3. Roll, Don't Fold.

Trying to fit everything into one bag can be nearly impossible. The best way to fit all of those clothes into your suitcase is to roll them not fold them. It saves so much more room and lets you bring those extra things you wouldn't also have room for!

4. Mix and Match.

Another great way to save room in your suitcase is to bring clothing that you can wear multiple times. Bring the shirt that goes with the jeans, the shorts and the skirt, not the shirt that only matches that one pair of shorts. This way you can have a different look everyday without overloading your suitcase.

5. Your Carry On Is Important.

If you're flying, there are a few things that you must have in your carry on because you never know what could happen to your other bag. The most important thing is a change of clothes, especially if you're traveling a long way. The next is a toothbrush, especially after that airplane food.

6. Be Flexible.

If you go into a trip expecting everything to go as planned, you're going to be disappointed. So be ready to be flexible! Flights get delayed, sometimes it rains and plans change. If you're ready to be flexible, the changes will never ruin your day!

7. Know Your Budget.

No matter where you're going or why, make a budget. It's easy to spend that extra money you think you have and then have nothing left the last few days. Know what things cost before you go and plan accordingly, but that doesn't mean you can't save room for fun!

8. Check Where You're Staying.

Sometimes that cheap room is cheap for a reason!! Before you book a room, make sure that it's going to be safe, especially if you're in another country. Sometimes that extra $50 a night is worth it.

9. You Are What You Eat...

While trying new food in different places is one of the best parts, it's another thing you have to be careful about. One bad restaurant can be the end of a good trip, so do your research before you go.

10. Enjoy It While You Can!

Making plans and packing can be super stressful, so enjoy it while you can. If you worry too much about the plans and where to go next, you might miss what's right in front of you! Having fun is the reason you came.

Traveling will bring some of the best memories that you will ever have! Take a deep breath, make a few lists and don't forget your headphones!!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
