The New Year is a time to reflect on all that has occurred in the previous year. Whether the lessons had been good or bad, you have been granted new knowledge in order to increase your success for the following year. Many use New Year's as a time to better themselves and use it as an incentive to create a goal such as, losing weight, saving money, or becoming more organized. No matter what the resolution ends up being, or how many times you’ve tried to carry out this resolution, everyone is familiar with these stages that occur throughout their journey.
1. New year, new me
It’s time to lose those few pounds gained from the holidays and start 2016 looking your best!
2. The peer pressure
Your friends want to get together for Tuesday Taco Night but that doesn’t seem to fit in your diet plan.
“NO KAREN I DON’T WANT A BITE….PUT DOWN THE TACO”
3. The self-loathing
It is your third day into your resolution and you are beginning to lose your optimism, the craving for old habits are beginning to become overbearing. Everyone else around you seems untroubled by their selected resolutions and you’re sitting there like,
4. The confidence returns
You were just having a weak moment last night that’s all! Those Sonic commercials got the best of you but, today you are ready to conquer the world. Also since it’s been a complete four days on the diet, you are beginning to see some changes. So naturally, it’s time to document your progress.
5. The anger
Due to bailing on past years resolutions, you don’t have the strongest support system. Family parties aren’t always a positive experience and usually result in Aunt Peggy laughing at you while eating a cookie— that she knows you can’t have.
*Wipes mixture of spit and crumbs off face*
6. The denial
It comes across your mind that there is a possibility your relatives are right—can you handle this? You’ve never been great with commitment—maybe this is just another failed attempt? Should you grab the Mint Cookie Crumble from the fridge or no?
7. The revelation
No, this is your year and you’ve come to the conclusion you don’t need anyone else’s support but your own. It’s time to take control and do this for you… take that Aunt Peggy!
8. The slip-up
It’s essentially inevitable, and that Mint Cookie Crumble just complimented that sappy Hallmark movie so well.
“IT WAS ONE TIME”
9. The slight guilt
But hey, we can counteract that Mint Cookie Crumble by seductively eating a salad, right?
10. The final thoughts
Of course, you have had your own few slip ups here and there, you’re only human right? However, you made absolute sure this was your year, and you have followed through with this resolution to the best of your ability. Watch out 2016, you’re ready for your debut!
