Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida is my favorite place! I have enjoyed going since I was just a toddler. It is a fun place to visit for all ages, especially for those of us who love anything and everything Disney! Below are ten of my favorite things about this magical dreamland.
1. Hidden Mickeys
"Hidden Mickeys" can be found all over the Disney Parks. They are embedded in various places, including some of our favorite attractions. Above is a Hidden Mickey found in "Snow White's Scary Adventures (now closed). There are even books sold for those of you interested in hunting down these Hidden Mickeys. I have taken on the task, and it is quite fun for adventurers. Next time you visit Disney, look for these hidden gems!
2. The Wishes Fireworks Show
This fireworks spectacular, held at the end of the Magic Kingdom day, is one for the books. People of all ages will enjoy this mesmerizing show! Make sure to find a good spot to watch. I recommend anywhere in Fantasyland, preferably in front of Cinderella's Castle!
3. Dole Whip in Adventureland
This is one of my favorite sweet Disney treats, found in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom. It is a delicious pineapple-flavored soft serve dessert, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for something good to cool you off!
4. Carousel of Progress
This is one of my family's favorite attractions! Located in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, this singing show, set on a moving platform, is filled with history. It originally was created by Walt Disney himself, as well as WED Enterprises as the prime feature of the General Electric Pavilion for the 1964 New York World's Fair. It was soon moved to Disney. Every time I attend this show, I feel like I'm seeing Walt Disney's legacy. It is truly a wonderful experience for all true Disney fans.
5. Character Meals
These meals, offered all around Walt Disney World, feature your favorite Disney friends! Not to mention the food is usually wonderful at every character meal! I highly recommend attending one during any visit to WDW, no matter what your age may be. My favorites include Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort, Garden Grill at Epcot, Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom, and Ohana at the Polynesian Resort.
6. The World Showcase at Epcot
Centered around a beautiful reflective lagoon, the World Showcase at Epcot is a must-see for visitors to Walt Disney World! Eleven countries of the world are represented and house various attractions and eateries. Visiting the World Showcase is a great way to experience the culture of these countries without traveling directly to them. It is a fun time for all ages!
7. Wearing Mickey Mouse Ears
This is a must for all Disney visitors! There is just something great about wearing your Mouse ears around any park. It truly makes anyone feel like a kid again!
8. Singing in "It's a Small World"
This attraction is a favorite for all ages. And we all love singing the happy tune we hear as we travel by boat through the various areas of the "small world." Sing loud, sing proud, WDW guests! It really is a small world, after all.
9. Taking Photos with Characters
Because who doesn't love meeting these cute little guys? Also note that autographs and photos together are an added bonus. Meeting your favorite characters will always make great memories, and photos will help you keep those memories forever.
10. Feeling Like a Kid Again
Visiting Walt Disney World is more than just spending a day at a theme park. With a little bit of Pixie Dust, Walt Disney has created a magical world that brings happiness to everyone, no matter the age. No matter how many times a person visits, they will experience adventure and excitement like no other. This is the power of Disney. And to think, it all started with a Mouse...
