If you are as big of an HP fan as I am, you have been waiting patiently for your Hogwarts letter since your 11th birthday. And even though it has been nearly a decade with no sign, you still have hope that it will come one day. However, maybe you have already found your own Hogwarts in the form of your college. Don't believe me? Well, check out these similarities!
1. You were super hyped to get your acceptance letter.

Nothing beats the rush you feel when you finally get accepted to your dream school!
2. All your best friends are there.

When you go back home, you are super lonely because they all live in different states.
3. Getting "sorted" (through a mutual-selection process) into your (sorority/fraternity) house is incredibly nerve-wracking.

The sorting only lasts about a minute or so. Rush, unfortunately, lasts a whole weekend.
4. But once you are in your house, you and your sisters/brothers share an unbreakable bond.

These people will not only be with you during your collegiate years, but for the rest of your life. Having such a large support system is amazing!
5. Once a year, the houses compete to see which one is best.

In the muggle world, we call this "Greek Week."
6. Freshmen always get lost going to class.

Thank goodness moving staircases do not exist on any campus. If they did, we would really be in trouble.
7. The entire student population comes out to cheer on sports teams.

On these days, school pride is at an all-time high.
8. If you screw up in a big way, your parents call to tear you a new one.

It does not matter that you are technically an adult. If you get wasted and wreck the car, they will know about it. And they will most definitely be angry!
9. You actually enjoy doing schoolwork.

Although you are not studying magic, choosing a major allows you to follow your passion. Going to class, doing the assigned reading, and writing papers is not so hard when it is for a subject you are interested in. Do not be afraid to embrace your inner Hermione!
10. You cannot wait to go back.

After only a few weeks of summer, you are bored out of your mind. You miss school like crazy, and for good reason: school is where all your friends are. So many happy memories have been made there. Crossing each day off the calendar makes you feel like you are one step closer to being back where you truly belong.
