10 Life Lessons Learned from Gossip Girl

You were either Team Blair or Team Serena but you learned the same lessons. I.E. if you break into a pool don't leave your cellphone behind.

It’s okay to be a bitch (sometimes)

Okay so Blair Waldorf is extreme, she was actually mean, but aside from that fact she went after what she wanted. She probably still would have been considered a bitch if she would have been a little nicer to Little J because she was never afraid to give up. She got what she wanted because she fought for it.

Money doesn’t give you an advantage.

Blair Waldorf didn’t get into Yale even though her Dad was an Alumni and probably would have made a sizable donation to the school in her name. Let's face it, Nate got screwed time and time again because he was played dirty by his rich grandfather and his dad lost him millions of dollars and he was homeless. Basically, the lesson we got from that is that Dan has it made because he can’t lose millions of dollars.

It’s okay to fight with your best friend

Serena and Blair wanted to kill each other time and time again but they also made up because they are best friends and they loved each other.

Being dissaving and lying gets you nowhere

Right GG?

Your first Boyfriend probably won’t be your last

i.e. Nate and Blair

Always stay true to who you are

Jenny Changed so she could fit in with Blair, Blair changed to fit in at NNU and Dan changed who he was entire to be a part of the upper Eastside. The only one who really stayed true to who they were was Chuck, he never stopped being a jerk, he just stopped being a jerk to Blair. NO matter how hard they tried to change it didn’t matter because they failed not being themselves.

Family doesn’t mean Blood

Blair, Serena, Nate, and Chuck were more of a Family then any of theirs put together. Sometimes your family isn't your blood, it’s who would Bleed for you.

Know yourself worth

There was not a moment, not even a second that either Blair or Serena questioned how much they were worth. When Chuck tried to trade Blair for his company, she knew she was worth better. Time and time again she told Serena that she deserved better. And because of that, they accomplished so much.

Secrets don’t keep you close; they pull you apart

As it turns out, Pretty Little Liars was wrong. Secrets only strain your friendship, only pull apart your relationship. There is no good that comes from them.

Don’t judge a book by its cover

In reality, Blair and Dan were a lot alike. In the first season, they were both going through family problems, and they both watched the guy and girl they loved to be together even if it was for a short time. But in the end, they both ended up happy. The problem was, they both were so quick to judge and hate the other.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
