When she entered this world, she came in a burst of light and magic so blinding, the world hushed. What would this fantastic creature do? The light she emitted was so powerful and pure, there was no doubt that only good could come from it.

As she grew, the world molded around her and everyone could see that she was something truly special. Her heart was made of the purest sunshine. Her laughter was the beautiful sonata of a dream. And her smile was a light that beamed through the universe.

Life began to through obstacles her way, not to crush her or cause her to fall, but to turn her into the strong woman she was destined to be. She took each one with a strong will and defiance, but sometimes she was knocked to her knees.

Sometimes she didn't want to get up because while she held that power inside of her, even she became blind to its light. Sometimes she didn't see how truly exceptional she was and couldn't see the path laid before her. Then, the light would shine just a bit brighter and would see the love surrounding her and then, she would stand.

She would stand tall, with a sort of aura that extended beyond herself. She was confidence. She was courage. And she was powerful.

The obstacles would continue to come, and she would take them on as best as she could, sometimes falling, but always rising. She became a woman who dances through this life, through its rhythms and its swells. She is everything she is meant to be and more and she is what this world needs and what it craves.

She is that burst of light that continues to shine, every day becoming brighter and brighter. She is a fantastic creature filled with so much magic. And She is powerful, good, and pure. She is defiant and strong.

The beautiful truth? That girl, that woman, is you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from.
