"Why would you want to be a teacher?"
"You can't live on a teacher's salary."

The desire to go into the education field is a very hard thing for people to understand, unless you were gifted with the heart of a teacher, that is. Many people just don't understand why anyone would waste their time and efforts on a job when their income doesn't necessarily show for it. The reasons to want to become a teacher are endless.

Being a teacher is one of the most rewarding jobs out there.

You become a second parent to your students. You care about them. You find yourself jumping for joy when they reach a goal and join them in their sorrows when something goes wrong. You get to know them. You know their home life, their likes, their dislikes, and even their hopes and dreams. You reach a point where you genuinely care about each and every student you come across. It is the most amazing feeling in the world to see a child accomplish something and know you had a part in making that happen.

Being a teacher is fun!

It's exciting to be able to decorate your classroom to your liking, plan activities you know your students will enjoy and experience them developing a love for school. You also get to spend day after day with children, and what's more rewarding than that? Their energy is contagious and their constant happiness is heartwarming. We all know the saying, "kids say the darnedest things," and being a teacher definitely confirms that. Spending day after day in the presence of children you'll be sure to spend a lot of time laughing. Children just know exactly how to put you in a good mood.

Being a teacher is about making a difference.

Teachers play a big role in shaping children into the people they become as adults. Children are our future. So being a teacher is an important job, don't you think? Think back to when you were in school. Think of your favorite teachers. I'm sure these teachers are your favorites because they did something that impacted your life greatly. Teachers are an important part of children's lives and they help them to grow. Teachers should take pride in their work because they shape our people for the future.

Teaching is about the outcome, not the income.

We are set in a day and age where money has become a first priority for most people, but what about happiness? If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life. I would rather have a job that puts a smile on my face every day than have all the money in the world. I mean, what is life without happiness anyway? I think it's impossible to spend a day as a teacher and not be happy with what you're doing.

So why would you want to be a teacher? The real question is why wouldn't you? Because although being a teacher is hard work, it is one of the most rewarding, enjoyable jobs out there. Being a teacher is one of the most important jobs as well. So next time you question someone about their desire to become a teacher, take a moment to think about all the great experiences teaching brings to both students and the teachers themselves. Honestly, I don't think teachers always get the credit they deserve So here's a big thanks to all the teachers out their for all their hard work and dedication; without you the world would never be the same!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
