To The Teachers Who Did More Than Teach
Wikipedia

Teachers have one of the most important jobs in America: forming the minds and hearts of America's future.

A teacher is able to touch and change a child's heart far more than any cardiac surgeon and can change the world far more than any politician.

Here's to the teachers who helped make us who we are today.

To the teacher who was there in the darkest times

Thank you for being there when my young self needed someone the most. My life at the time was filled with witnessing my dad dying, and you did everything you could to place joy in my life in one way or another.

From making me laugh each day, bringing over dinner on nights my dad was in the hospital, and asking me to help you clean the classroom as a way to get me out of the house.

During a time in my life when I needed to be shown love and support the most, you were there, and I'll never forget it.

To the teacher who never stops believing in me

First of all, thank you for not only being a teacher but one of the most influential men in my life.

You spent each day making each student feel special, loved, unique and cherished. You have supported multiple students at sporting events, been there to talk to and give advice to anyone who needed it and even attended my Confirmation.

Even though you taught me in school almost four years ago, you have never stopped teaching me what it means to be the best version of yourself and how to put others above yourself. You are a teacher, and friend, that I will never forget.

To the teacher who made everyone feel like they mattered

When I first began your class, I was nervous, being that chemistry was not the easiest subject for me to understand and attain. However, you took every step in making sure that no one felt that they were lagging behind.

Not only this, but you took the time to strike up a conversation with each student individually throughout the week, making each student feel valued and that they mattered.

When students were going through hard times, you noticed and let them know that you were there if they ever needed anything, and went out of your way to make sure each of your students felt cherished and loved.

For this, you are a teacher I will never forget.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
