There are millions of teachers throughout every grade level. There are teachers that come and go from several schools. Sometimes they lose their jobs simply because they are under the 10 year mark. There are those teachers that are the pioneers of your school and truly make a difference in your life, as well as the lives of other students that walk the halls of your high school or college.
Teachers never have had it easy in this world and probably never will. They fight for their right to earn more money and, of course, to keep their jobs. Going through the process to become a teacher is very difficult one to complete. I would not know what that is like, but watching my friends in college go through the education program, I give them props!
We all can look back on our years in school and say that one teacher changed our lives. I know I can. My junior year of high school had to be one of the best years I walked the halls of high school. I had my best friends, a great boyfriend, I was all over athletics, and had good grades, but nothing topped it off like my amazing English teacher. We all can depict that one year that just made all of others not as wonderful or memorable.
To the teacher that taught me more than just the classroom lesson, I really would not be where I am today if I did not take your class when I was only 17. I learned more in that class than I ever have in any classroom setting. Thank you for teaching me how to read, write, and express myself better. Thank you for being the shoulder to cry on when my boyfriend broke up with me. I never enjoyed a class or a person more than I enjoyed you.
Your life lessons of giving back to those who don't have as much are so inspiring and have changed me. When I walked into your classroom on the first day of school, I knew it was going to be a special class. Thank you for teaching me how to love the person I see in the mirror. You have taught us how to accept our flaws and imperfections. You taught us that giving a gift to someone is much more rewarding than receiving. I can remember when my teacher told us the story of how him and his wife donate toys to the less fortunate children on Christmas.
I can remember all the other students that have touched the life of my English teacher and inspired him to teach what he teaches. It is amazing to see that a teacher learns from his students and uses their lesson to create his. I have never met someone like my English teacher. People come into your life for a reason, and how they get there is a mystery, but I feel that teachers are blessings in disguise. They may be underpaid and mistreated, but at the end of the day, we really need them. I have never truly appreciated my teachers until I had met my English teacher. I see the hard work they put into those lessons, and they do their best to ensure you pass and get the education you need.
To the teachers that teach more than just the classroom lesson, thank you for taking on such a hard but rewarding job. Thank you for listening to me when I needed to talk to someone. Thank you for staying after school to help me understand and get better. Thank you for inspiring me and to keep going forward. I really hope I have made you proud.
