A Taylor Swift Song For Whatever Life Throws At You

If you are like me, Taylor Swift has played a huge role in your adolescence. Although you may not know Taylor Swift personally, somehow, her music was like friendly advice to get you through some terrible situations. Taylor Swift has a certain way of making everyone feel as though their lives relate to every song she has written. Even if you are single, and always have been, somehow, these love/breakup songs relate to your life in some way.

Swift’s sound may have changed in recent years, but one thing remains constant: she has shaped a generation and touched so many people’s lives through her music.

When you don’t think there is a Taylor Swift song for your particular situation, think again. Here’s a Taylor Swift song for just about any situation life can throw at you:

“22”

When your fake ID says you are now 22 instead of 21 so it seems more legit, listen to “22." It’s your birthday anyways, right?!

I don’t know about you but I’m feeling 22. Everything will be alright if you keep me next to you.

“Fifteen”

That awful moment when you recall your freshman year of high school boyfriend and realize what a mistake that was. #ragret

When all you wanted was to be wanted, wish you could go back and tell yourself what you know now.

“Forever & Always”

When you find yourself watching Titanic and truly hope that this time things will change and Rose really won’t let go. But, she still lets go and breaks your heart all over again.

You said forever and always, you didn’t mean it, baby.

“I Knew You Were Trouble”

When you get your group for a project and realize that one of the members is definitely lazy and going to do no work but say nothing, and then they live up to those expectations.

I knew you were trouble when you walked in.

“Last Kiss”

It is THE most heartbreaking song of Taylors. If you are planning on listening to “Last Kiss," please bring a box of tissues along. Seriously Taylor, way to break our hearts. So if you need a good cry, this is the go-to song.

All that I know is I don’t know how to be something you miss. Never thought we’d have a last kiss. Never imagined we’d end like this. Your name, forever the name on my lips. Just like our last kiss.

“Long Live”

It’s the absolutely perfect song to listen to if you are feeling nostalgic.

I said remember this feeling. I passed the pictures around, of all the years that we stood there on the sidelines wishing for right now.

“Never Grow Up”

When you realize you are entering your 20’s and you aren’t a kid anymore and have to enter the real world, but you aren’t ready to give up your childhood just yet.

So here I am in my new apartment, in a big city. They just dropped me off. It’s so much colder than I thought it would be. So I tuck myself in, and turn my nightlight on. Wish I’d never grown up.

“Should’ve Said No”

When you eat that second slice of pizza and immediately regret that decision.

You should’ve said no. You should’ve gone home. You should’ve thought twice before you let it all go.

“Stay, Stay, Stay”

This one is for when you are inevitably a bit crazy and for some reason, the person you are with chooses to tolerate you instead of leaving you and maybe even loves you for how crazy you are.

You took the time to memorize me: my fears, my hopes, and dreams. I just like hanging out with you, all the time. All those times that you didn’t leave, it’s been occurring me I’d like to hang out with you, for my whole life.

“Teardrops on My Guitar”

When no one wanted to dance with you at those middle school dances, so you dramatically listened to this song on repeat.

He’s the reason for the teardrops on my guitar, the only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.

“The Way I Loved You

When you realize you’ve let go the best thing to happen to you. Sometimes the best things for you seem like the worst things at times. You have to experience the worst to appreciate the best.

I miss screaming and fighting and kissing in the rain, and it’s 2am and I’m cursing your name. You’re so in love that you act insane.

“Welcome to New York”

Living in NY, nothing is better than travelling home for breaks from school in CT and blasting “Welcome to New York” as you travel over the bridge with the city in sight. It’s the perfect song for anyone who is entering NY.

Welcome to New York, it’s been waiting for you.

“White Horse”

For all those empty apologies. Sometimes hearing the same apologies over and over again results in them meaning nothing to you.

And there you are on your knees. Begging for forgiveness, begging for me, just like I always wanted, but I’m so sorry.

“You Belong With Me”

When you see that one adorable puppy at the pet store and you automatically connect. You just know that you two are made for each other, but of course you know that if your parents said yes every time you wanted a puppy, you would have about 53 by now.

If you can see that I’m the one who understands you. Been here all along. So why can’t you see: you belong with me, you belong with me.

I could go on forever, but I’m sure you get it: there is always a Taylor Swift song to get you through a tough situation.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
