How does art make you feel? Happy? Angry? Sad? Does it convey some emotion, or none? Art is meant to touch the eyes, the heart, and the soul. It's meant to make you look at a piece and admire it or hate it, and it's supposed to make you think, whether you do or not. This is with any canvas, any material, and any instrument. Charcoal pieces on a canvas, ink and pencil on paper, objects as sculptures, and even ink on skin. These are all forms of art, and they are all ways the artist, creator, and wearer express themselves and tell a story. Still not seeing a connection with the tattoos and art? Let's take a closer look.

1. Watercolor Art

Watercolor art is absolutely one of my most favorite styles of art. It's loose form and nonexistent boundaries create limitless designs and emotions. This type of art can also be done in inking for tattoos, just like my own personal tattoo.

2. Black and White Art

This style can be done in both charcoal, pen, pencil, and ink for tattoos. the realist approach is indeed intense and tedious, but at least on charcoal if you mess up you can start over. In tattoos, the artist has to be very focused and know exactly what to do, or it can mess up the entire piece, but no pressure.

3. Geometric Simplistic Art

Geometric pieces are simple, beautiful, and also intriguing. People don't stick to just the basic idea of geometric shapes, they go far and beyond to break the barrier between the geometry and the detailed parts of art in both tattoos and other forms of canvases.

4. Portrait Art

Portraits are a very tedious form of art. They take a sharp eye to be able to see the details that go into a person's face and depict them accurately on the canvas. on human skin though, it is even harder than paper because the flesh moves and is curved because of the anatomy of the body.

5. Symbolism

Anything someone draws or paints can mean something to them, but there is just another level of connection one feels when they have that artwork put on their body. It's with them forever, and it is always a conversation topic. The meanings put into tattoos make them so much more beautiful than they already are.

So, in this world there are several forms of art and expression. Tattooing is one of these forms. It is a beautiful process that brings people who may or may not be artistic that much closer to art, and that much closer to something they already hold dear to them.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
