Aries

March 21-April 19

The Emperor

As the masculine ruler of the cards, the Emperor leads with a powerful energy. This should come as no surprise to you Aries. You have a natural talent to lead, which helps you complete your goals. The best use of this talent is to serve your community like a true selfless ruler. If the reader of this card is not wary of their motivations, their values may become skewed and relationships unbalanced. With great power comes great responsibility. Lead with caution.

Taurus

April 20-May 20

The Hierophant

The Hierophant, a seeker of wisdom and healing, is a sign of self-exploration. Taurus has a powerful connection with the elements and can find oneness with the earth. This connection presents the opportunity to access a spiritual wisdom inside you, if you wish to unlock it. Readers remember, fear of vulnerability will only get in the way of achieving your full potential.

Gemini

May 21-June 21

The Lovers

The Lovers is your classic yin and yang card. It reminds the reader that opposites attract and can even create a balance. It’s no secret that there is a two-ness within Gemini, but duality is not necessarily bad. You are your best self when you can love who you are, two-ness and all. So strive to find love within yourself and a bond with an open, communicative lover. If you are finding love challenging, be patient and compassionate, the time will come.

Cancer

June 22-July 22

The Chariot

The Chariot is a card that signifies a new journey ahead. It is a time to channel the strength within the sign of Cancer and prepare. It is easy to fear change even when you know it is necessary. But trust that you, just like the crab, are your own home and source of protection. Though being emotional is a super power, make sure to sort through your feelings before the journey begins because there is no use living in the past.

Leo

July 23-Aug. 22

Strength

The reader of this card needs to embrace their animal instincts. And of course the symbol of strength and instincts is the powerful lion herself. If you are as focused as the lion on her hunt, you will experience pure ecstasy when what you’ve longed for is finally yours and the process might even be fun! Leos, you know your creative power stems from passion and fearlessness. But even so, you are only human, and like all other signs you may sometimes fear the animal within. If this is the case, it’s helpful to draw another card to see what can bring you out of the lion’s den.

Virgo

Aug. 23-Sept. 22

The Hermit

Virgo, the deck has exposed you as the lone wolf. But there is no shame in solitude that is focused on finding one’s inner light. This card encourages the reader to begin the journey of finding their shadow self. It sounds scary, I know, but by fighting the fear of the shadow you will find light. Don’t confuse shadow with darkness and despair. This journey must be taken slowly, breath by breath, day by day.

Libra

Sept. 23-Oct. 22

Justice

A way of balance is naturally engrained in you, but it is your responsibility to construct it. This card encourages its reader to take caution of potential stressors so that they are better prepared for what the future holds. It may be tempting to let yourself be swayed by the chaos of life but it is not worth losing sight of your values. Regulation in your life is key. Take on only what is necessary in this moment. Remember, you are stronger than the storm.

Scorpio

Oct. 23-Nov. 21

Death

Let’s clear the air on this tarot card. The Death tarot is not an omen of danger and doom. This card actually signifies death and rebirth. You Scorpios may identify with this card because as scorpions it’s easy to be misunderstood. But more likely you relate because your ruling planet Pluto is the master of transformation and regeneration. With this card comes a significant change in the reader’s life. Life is full of cycles called death phases, which act like the phoenix rising from ashes. If you feel hesitant over the change, confront your fears and take the journey one step at a time.

Sagittarius

Nov. 22-Dec. 21

Temperance

Temperance is the key to understanding the world as a whole. There is no wonder why it is the tarot of Sagittarius since their intense curiosity is what drives them to experience as much of the world as possible. If you have chosen this card you are in a place of balance that will open them up to great understanding and creativity. If this is not true to how you are feeling it is possible that you have your energy directed towards one aspect of your life and are neglecting others. As usual, balance is key in staying true to your values.

Capricorn

Dec. 22-Jan. 19

The Devil

Yup, that’s right. Capricorn (the most stable, serious sign of the zodiac) rules the Devil. Confused? Honestly, me too. But hear me out. This card comes with a warning but not necessarily a negative message. The Devil card encourages the enjoyment of life and to partake in laughter and yes, of course sex. But it is also a caution to not overindulge or partake in seriously maladaptive behaviors (This indeed sounds like Capricorn). On the flip side even seriousness is something to be moderated.

Aquarius

Jan 20-Feb. 18

The Star

The Star is a symbol of divine clarity. Aquarius, my pensive friend, your visionary qualities come from your ruling planet Uranus. You rule this card because of your devotion to thought and quest for inspiration. A reader with this card is completely open to the cosmos. With this though there may be fear. You may doubt your potential to connect to a higher power. But do not limit yourself.

Pisces

Feb.19-March 20

The Moon

Pisces, you are the most tolerant of the signs because of your natural understanding of life’s rollercoasters. It is for this reason you rule the card of the Moon. The moon reflects the threshold of one’s journey. Will they be able to trudge through the night? Apathy and anxiety calls out on the line of this threshold. If you pick this card, Pisces or not, remember it is okay to rest as long as you continue the journey once

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
