Top 10 Things I Buy At Target

Everyone knows about Target's magical abilities. Somehow when you walk through those front doors, all common sense is lost and you are left in a spending frenzy. Next thing you know, you're walking out of the store, arms full of bags. You only ever go in for a couple of items but somehow never seem to leave with less than ten.

A fancy-pants drink from Starbucks.

This is where I like to start my Target adventure. I hop into line at Starbucks and order one of two things, depending on my mood that day and the season of year it is. My go-to options are an Iced Caramel Macchiato with almond milk or a Pink Drink (honestly, I'm not even sorry).

A random type of makeup that I did NOT need.

I am the type of girl who will buy makeup at the slightest hint of a sale. Eyeshadow? Absolutely. Lipstick? Yes please. Some weird brand or product I've never used and I know for a fact I won't use it? I need it, obviously. I think its a problem, but not one I'm willing to fix.

A good book to add to my collection.

My collection of unread books, that is. I am notorious for buying a book knowing that I have a pretty hefty pile at home waiting to be cracked open. That will never stop me.

A snack, because you always need a snack.

Giphy

I could have just finished a meal and a snack will always be purchased. I usually gravitate towards chips or trail mix. Sometimes if I'm feeling feisty, I'll grab a bag of candy. Later me will be thankful. I've got my back.

Something crafty.

Giphy

I have an entire storage box full of crafting supplies in my room. It is very safe to say that I will never need to purchase crafty things ever again and I'll still have a surplus. Again, this will not stop me. Who knows, maybe one day I'll need that pack of 100 markers that are exactly like the last two packs I bought.

A brand new candle.

Giphy

I've officially lost count of the number of candles in my room. There is no such thing as too many, despite what my mom likes to tell me.

Shampoo, conditioner, soap, or deodorant.

Giphy

I just like to have options.

New clothes.

Giphy

I just really love a good sale. I can't promise I'll wear what I buy, but at least I give myself that option.

A pack of gum.

Giphy

I like to eat several pieces a day, so I tend to run low on gum fairly quick.

One more coffee for the road.

If I finish my starting coffee before I leave the store, I usually stop and get another one before I leave so I can enjoy it on my drive home.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
