I'm not here to talk, or in this case, write about politics. In fact I am so over seeing comments and memes that bash each of the candidates as well as individuals bashing each other via social media. This is America, the land of the free and home of the brave. We as citizens have a given right to voice our opinions and to vote. However this does not mean we have a right to sit here and bring down people who voted for one person or the other. Regardless, this is our soon to be president, protesting and name calling is not going to help the situation nor is it appropriate. It's rather immature and I'm talking about everyone not just one political side, everyone is in the wrong for the hateful things that have been passed back and forth these past several days.

I may not be fond of the decisions we have made these past few days, with all the hate that has been spread, but that is besides the point. This article is not about the political aspects or what he stands for and plans he has for this nation, it isn't even about him in general. He is our soon to be president and regardless we all must respect that and hope that our country changes for the better. With that being said, he may be the newly elected president however he is not the future, we are, and this is for the girls.

You are a strong individual and do not let anyone, or any MAN tell you otherwise. You are in control of your own decisions, never let anyone tell you what to think or what not to think, where to stand, what to do with your own body or simply how to live your life. Don't ever give up on your hopes and dreams. We have come so far and we are not going to give up now.

You can make a difference, fight for what you believe in and don't let hateful or discouraging words tear you down. Be independent, be unique, be a leader not a follower. Voice your opinions regardless of how ridiculous some people may think it is and never let anyone push your ideas and thoughts to the side. We live in a country where generations before us have worked so hard to get where we are now and it's only going up from here.

You are better than the derogative and crude remarks you have and may receive. You are beautiful inside and out and no one should make you feel any less than that. Don't ever let anyone tell you you can't or that you shouldn't. You are smart, use your mind and speak your thoughts. Show everyone what you are made of.

This is for the girls who have been told they aren't good enough, who have been sexually assaulted, who have been denied a chance to speak their opinions, who want to make a difference. This is for all of us.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
