To All Of Those Looking To Get Their Forever Family Through Adoption

Don't stop fighting.

For those of you who do not know, November is National Adoption Awareness Month. Adoption holds a very special place in my heart and the heart of many others. Adoption allows a child to get their forever family.

It's that couple that has been fighting for so long to hear the words “Momma” and “Daddy” come from a child’s mouth that they get to answer. It's a child admiring them and them getting to love that child like their own because they are finally theirs. They fought for them. It takes a special type of person to welcome a child into their home and love them like their own.

Happy adoption month to the parents that have fought for their children. Happy adoption month to the parents who have cried endless tears and suffered rounds of fertility treatments and prayed countless prayers just to get another negative.

Know, that you are remembered and you are still adored.

To the parents that couldn’t have children, you are known. To the parents that are debating if adoption is a good choice for you or not, you are being prayed for.

Adoption is something that people take so lightly, they think that it is easy. They think that they can just sign up, become a foster parent and that everything will work out the way you want it. I’m sorry, but it doesn’t always work that way.

Adoption is hard.

Adoption is not only a fight with the state but it is a fight with the families of the child you are trying to adopt because they seem to have come out of nowhere while you were fighting to love them and make sure that they make it in this world. It is suddenly they want to take this child from the best thing they have and love them on their time when they were unable to love them when they were born.

To the children that are adopted, never be afraid to tell your story. Be proud of where you came from, be proud of how far you have come, no matter what you believe, good or bad. Be proud to say, that you are loved.

The love you get is rare. I’m not saying that a parent's love for their biological child is any less. I’m just saying that someone loved you so much before they even knew who you were and they welcomed you into their family.

They wanted you, they chose you and they fought to keep you because they knew you deserved to be loved.

To the families that are going through adoption, you are in my prayers. Don’t stop fighting, don’t stop praying and don’t stop believing that there is a child that will get to call your home your family their forever home and their forever family.

I promise, with faith and prayers it will happen. It just has to happen through Gods timing.

Happy National Adoption Awareness month to those fighting, those who have won their battle, those waiting and those searching and debating if this is the right choice for you.

I pray that you get your forever family.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
