A Tale Of Two Identities Part 2

He searched for her for decades, but by the time he found her, it was too late. The day he found her was the day she was being hung for association with a pirate. She had the noose around her neck and before he could stop them she was gone. He couldn't stand that he had lost the love of his life. When your father brought you to him the emptiness that your uncle had in his heart disappeared. You became his priority. Since he promised your father he would protect you he didn't want them finding this room or you. He doesn't want you to have the same fate as Angela." Mr. Smith said.

"So that's why he taught me how to hide in the shadows and stay hidden." I said still in shock about me uncle's life. "Aye, that is correct me lady." "Why did my dad give me to my uncle?" I asked, "Your father was protecting you because of the gift that you received from your mother." I just stared, looking down at the amulet that was around my neck. Just then the ship started moving and Mr. Smith opened the door and we both went up to the deck in silence. When we got onto the deck I looked around, but Uncle Will was nowhere to be seen.

"You with the rat on your shoulder come here." I said "Yes me lady?" he asked, "Where is the Captain?" I said looking at him. "He surrendered to the British as long as the left everything alone and just took him." "Thank you, you're dismissed." I said. Oh great, I'm the first mate which means I'm now the captain. "Mr. Smith," I said, "Yes captain?" "Get this ship moving I am not losing the only family I have to those British soldiers," I said determined to get my uncle back. "Aye aye captain" he replied. "Crew, man your stations and follow those British ships were going to take back our rightful captain," I yelled as we started after those British ships.

As we followed the British ships the weather was on our side. With a cloud of fog covering us we were able to stay hidden, but we could still see the ships. As we got closer to the shore I knew we would have to use the rowboats the rest of the way. "Lower the sails and release the anchor" I yelled to the crew. "Mr. Smith get two men and meet me in the rowboat. Its time to go get my uncle back." "Aye aye Captain" I grabbed my sword and ran to the rowboat. As soon as Mr. Smith and the men got in, we released the rowboat and headed to shore.

"Mr. Smith I will go find my uncle and free him you and the others help make a distraction." "Yes, ma'am. Me lady look" Mr. Smith said as he pointed toward a big black ship. "Capt'n Black is here. This rescue just got a lot harder maties." I said.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
