I have recently noticed how dependent we have become on technology. I dropped my phone in a puddle this past week and had to put it in bowl of rice for 12 hours. During this short time I reached for my phone around 100 times. I missed an object.
This feeling is not natural. We should be able to go half a day without technology.
I even had people tell me to "just look it up" or ask me "where's your phone?” The fact that others noticed the absence of my phone is sad.
This has inspired me to try and extend the period I live without my phone and other technology. This may seem hard in this world today, but I think it will be worth the struggle.
I encourage all of you to try and take at least a 24 hour break from all technology. Take time to appreciate the world around you or reconnect with the people around you that you may be missing out on.
Good luck!
