With 2016 quickly approaching, I find myself reflecting on what has been the greatest year of my life thus far. Take a couple of moments before the New Year to think about new friends you made or experiences that influenced you personally. Did you live 2015 to the fullest?
Everyone creates their own story in this crazy thing that we call life. Each passing year we write a new chapter of this story. We remember the lows, such as losing a loved one or breaking up with a significant other. But, we also remember the highs such as meeting new people that you know have had a positive impact on your life for years to come. Maybe you have found your passion and realized who you are becoming as a person. Often people spend too much time thinking about the negative rather than the positive and come up with New Year resolutions. Personally, it is not about resolving issues that you had in that previous year.
Each year we grow as individuals in all aspects of life. Whether that be mentally, spiritually or even physically, New Year's resolutions should be about finding positive energy in your life and capitalizing on that energy. For some, 2015 was the year where all those loose ends were tied together. Maybe they found out who their true friends were or what career path they want to follow. Maybe they found out how to live stress free and came to the realization that happiness is what keeps them driven. Whatever it may be, they found it in 2015.
For the people whose 2015 was not all they expected it to be, here is what I have to say to you. Go out and find what makes you happy. Try to be more adventurous, express yourself and think outside the box. In our society today, positivity is frowned upon and there is no such thing as individuality. The only way you can reach your goals is by being yourself. Dare to be different and realize that anything you put your mind to is possible.
For me, 2015 was the year where I saw the most personal growth. I feel like I have realized what career path I want to follow, who I want to surround myself with, and I am truly blessed to live the life I live. I just want others to realize that struggles and adversity make you a stronger person. If the year did not go as planned, use it as a learning experience and be the best you that you can be.
So 2015 may have been great, but go out and make sure that 2016 is one full of success, happiness and positivity.
Cheers!
