A Message To My Best Friends From College With Summer Now Upon Us
To the best people I could have ever become friends with, thank you.
It's been one long year, hasn't it? Truth be told, it really feels like we just moved in yesterday. I never would have imagined our first year of college would go by as quickly as it did. From the long days we spent studying for exams to the long nights where we wandered aimlessly around campus looking for parties, we shared so many memories in such a short time of knowing each other. Though we met months ago, it feels like I have known you all my entire life.
We laughed together, we cried together (sometimes more than we should have), we ate together, and we spent most of our days together. We went to football games, tailgates, concerts, and danced all night at THON. This summer is going to feel so empty without you all being within walking distance of me. It's going to be so hard not being able to just walk into your room and hang out whenever I feel like it. I don't know what I'm going to do when I'm bored and you're not there to spend time with me. I truly wish we could all stay on campus this summer and hang out all the time, minus the stress of classes and work. However, I know our homes are spread across the country. We have families at home and summer jobs, so realistically we can't stay at college. They say all good things must come to an end, and our freshman year is not excluded in this statement.
I'll cherish every memory we made these past two semesters, both good and bad. I'll miss seeing your parents when they visit for the weekend. I'll miss being your shoulder to cry on after a failed exam or a bad day. I'll even miss being made fun of for the supposed accent I didn't know I had. I'm going to miss everything. I am truly so lucky to have met all of you and to call you my friends, I certainly would not have successfully gotten through this first year of college without you all.
The fall semester will be so much better. We'll be returning with more stories to share and each other to share the stories with. I don't want to wish summer away, don't get me wrong, but I'm already excited to see you all again and spend our days together. I wouldn't want to be doing college with anyone else, and I'm beyond blessed to have you all in my life. Here's to the next three years, I love you guys!
