I am sorry Whataburger just isn't that good
When i die spread my ashes at the Bubba Gump at Citywalk
First and foremost, I am a foodie. In any city that I am in, the first thing I want to know is where the best places to eat and drink are, and I imagine a lot of you are the same. Los Angeles happens to be one of the greatest food cities in the United States, so it's only right that I present you guys with this list. These are the best places (that I have tried) in Los Angeles to eat or drink.
Listen, I understand that no one wants to go to city walk (i do but I’m not boring like some of y’all) I also understand that the food at Bubba Gump is just subpar, it’s the drinks and the atmosphere you’re coming here for! You’ve got a theme park next door for before or after your drinking, you’ve got shops and places to get sweets all along city walk, it’s an ideal spot.
What you’ll order: the gold and honey, always.
Location: 1000 Universal Studios Blvd Suite 114, Universal City, CA
I understand that people in la that think they’re too good for it, avoid the grove like the plague, but those people are missing out on my favorite dining experience I’ve had so far in the city, The Fountain Bar. Is it expensive? A bit! But the view of the fountain and the bartenders who provide endless banter (should you choose to sit at the bar) make the price seem like a no-brainer. Plus, you never know who you’ll spot while you people watch. I saw Drake Bell one time.
What you’ll order: Anything off the special drinks menu, and the salmon carpaccio
Location: 189 The Grove Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90036
I don’t think of myself as a huge Star Wars nerd, however, Scum and Villainy blew me away. The atmosphere is a wet dream for fans both casual and hardcore, and the drinks!!! The drinks are where this place shines, with a marvel/star wars inspired menu, you simply can’t go wrong! If you find yourself out wondering late on Hollywood Boulevard, this is the spot you want to be at!
What you’ll order: Blue Milk, yes, this is my Disney adult coming through
Location: 6377 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028
Listen, before anything else in my life, I am a swiftie. There was no way that I wasn’t going to recommend you all partake in my favorite bar-going experience, The Golden Gopher where Taylor Swift shot ‘Delicate,' is nestled in Downtown Los Angeles and is the perfect bar to bring your computer to and work while enjoying an Old Fashioned.
What you'll order: An Old Fashioned
Location: 417 W 8th St, Los Angeles, CA 90014
I know, you people avoid The Grove like the plague, but you shouldn't! Marmalade Cafe is one of two places at The Grove on this list for good reason, it's full of killer places to dine! The menu at Marmalade is vast and includes breakfast, seafood, and pasta, just to name a few of the offerings. The cocktail menu is killer as well!
What you'll order: Spicy Tuna Tartar, or potstickers!
Location: 6333 W 3rd St # E17, Los Angeles, CA 90036
I am a diner hoe through and through, but Bob's Big Boy sits at the top of the list. From the car shows that you may see Jay Leno frequent, to the constant crowd the diner attracts, It's an environment I have really come to love. Bob's Big Boy feels like an escape from the boujie side of Los Angeles.
What you'll order: Biscuits and Gravy, duh.
Location: 4211 W Riverside Dr, Burbank, CA 91505
Nic's on Beverly is a place I had seen every influencer flaunting being at on Instagram, so naturally, I had to go visit! Now, Nic's is easily one of my go-to spots in LA. The Restaurant itself keeps pretty odd hours, so always check the website before heading there! The place is so cute inside and has an entirely plant-based menu! Nowhere is better for a boozy brunch!
What you'll order: Avocado tacos, and wine!
Location: 8265 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048
I trust Steven and Andrew from Worth it with my life, so naturally, if they recommend a place, I am going. Tacos 1986 comforted me on a lonely night at a hotel downtown and introduced me to some of the best quick-service Mexican food in the city. Best news, it's on Doordash so you can get these tacos from the comfort of your home.
Location: 7235 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036
There is not a better place for breakfast in Los Angeles than Egg Tuck. I ordered Egg Tuck for the first time back in April, and now I don't know how I'll ever find a place that compares. This is one of those places that is so hyped up, but it perfectly matches the hype.
What you'll order: Egg Tots, Avocado Egg Sandwich
Location: 7131 Sunset Blvd B, Los Angeles, CA 90046
If you're looking for THE hidden gem in Downtown LA, look no further than Mochinut LA. This place is so cute and has easily the best mochi donuts I have found anywhere. The décor is very Instagram-worthy (yes, I'm cringe and like a good photo, leave me alone).
What you'll order: Any donut, Hot Cheetos Dog
Location: 728 S Olive St, Los Angeles, CA 90014
I mean. come on! You can't do an LA food article without mentioning Canters. Canters is the definition of a staple, everyone who has spent any length of time in the city has been here at some point. The atmosphere, the staff, the menu, THE SMELL, all 10/10.
What you'll order: literally any food item, but you HAVE to try the dill pickle bloody mary, life-changing.
Location: 419 North Fairfax Avenue

Grab your popcorn, we're going to talk about my favorite movies of 2021
Holidays are back, so it's time to reflect on my personal favorite movies of 2021. Thankfully for those comfortable with going to the theaters, the jaw-dropping cinematic events are back. In alphabetical order, check out which films made the cut.
A Quiet Place Part II (2021) - Final Trailer - Paramount Pictureswww.youtube.com
The sequel to John Krasinski and Emily Blunt's horror movie is as amazing as the first one. The first gripping 15 minutes show how the apocalyptic world came to be, and the story instantly picks up where it left off. Cillian Murphy is a great addition to the cast plus he has some of the best action scenes throughout the movie. If viewers are paying attention, some plot devices are predictable. But with the effective jump scares and eerie atmosphere, "A Quiet Place II" is one of the best horror films of the year.
BELFAST - Official Trailer - Only In Theaters November 12www.youtube.com
Directed by Kenneth Branagh with a personal touch, "Belfast" delivers an innocent, heart-warming story of a young boy and his family during the Northern Ireland conflict between Catholics and Protestants. The witty dialogue between Buddy (Jude Hill) and his grandparents (Judi Dench and Ciarán Hinds) is hilarious, and the "Everlasting Love" scene is one of the best scenes of the year. This family drama is a crowd-pleaser with strong potential for awards season.
Dune | Official Main Trailerwww.youtube.com
As one of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2021, "Dune" lives up to the hype. "Dune" in 2021 adds mystery with less dialogue and more stunning visual effects and editing. The story of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) and his family in this sci-fi space epic gives the original 1984 movie adaptation a modern facelift.
THE FRENCH DISPATCH | Official Trailer | Searchlight Pictureswww.youtube.com
Hot take: this might be the best movie from director Wes Anderson. The film is told as if the viewer is reading a magazine with sections and chapters. The stories told within "The French Dispatch" are colorful, charming and packed with a star-studded cast including Francis McDormand, Léa Seydoux, Benicio Del Toro, Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright and more.
MASS | Official Trailer | Bleecker Streetwww.youtube.com
"Mass" is the most underrated movies of the year. Jason Isaacs, Martha Plimpton, Ann Dowd and Reed Birney phenomenally play two sets of parents who had children involved in a school shooting. But one set of parents had a child who was a victim and another had a child who was the shooter. After watching the movie, viewers will need a moment to collect their thoughts because of how heavy yet necessary this movie was.
The Mitchells vs. The Machines | Official Trailer | Netflixwww.youtube.com
This movie was one of the best surprises of the year. Katie (Abbi Jacobson) is a relatable film-loving student who brings vibrant life to the animated feature. The film is quirky with cute emotes and stickers placed throughout the scenes, and it certainly rivals other animation contenders for Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards. In a world that is overly connected with technology, it's nice to unplug and reconnect with family in this film.
SPENCER - Official Teaser Trailer - In Theaters November 5thwww.youtube.com
"Spencer," directed by Pablo Larraín, is a work of art. Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana is a wonder to behold as she grapples with her mental health and the entire royal family. The cinematography is gorgeous, the score is haunting and the costume design is beautiful. The movie takes all its elements and more, leaving viewers with plenty of memorable scenes after the credits roll.
SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME - Official Trailerwww.youtube.com
Is it fan service-y? Yes. But is it easy to eat up every moment? Absolutely. "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is the best movie for any Spider-Man fan. The personal stakes have never been this high for Tom Holland's Peter Parker, bringing more depth and emotion to his trilogy. The film is riddled with laugh-out-loud moments, stunning visual effects, cheerful surprises and plenty of reasons to celebrate what it means to be Spider-Man.
tick, tick...BOOM! | Official Trailer | Netflixwww.youtube.com
Andrew Garfield is phenomenal in "tick, tick ... BOOM!" as Jonathan Larson, the creator of broadway musicals "Rent" and "Tick, Tick... Boom!" The story's pacing is great as viewers see Larson's ups and downs as a struggling playwright, friend and boyfriend in New York. Lin-Manuel Miranda knocks it out of the park with this feature film directorial debut, and the music is a bop.
Steven Spielberg's "West Side Story" | Official Trailer | 20th Century Studioswww.youtube.com
Director Steven Spielberg brings a modern adaptation of the popular 1957 musical "West Side Story," a classic star-crossed lovers story surrounded by the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds in New York. Fans of the original musical and 1961 movie adaptation should find lots to love in this version. The music sounds as amazing as ever, the choreography and cinematography is breath-taking and Ariana DeBose kills her role as Anita.

Summer is finally here, but that can mean very little if you're too broke to enjoy it.
I know all too well how it feels to finally have time to do things, but having absolutely no money for the things you want to do. Sometimes, you have to get creative with your fun. Here is a list of five free, or slightly cheaper ways to enjoy your summer vacation as a college student!
Most national parks are free to enter. You can have a great time just enjoying the scenery in your state with some friends! Some even have drive through trails that give you to opportunity to view wildlife in its natural habitat. With a little extra cash, you can even plan a nice intimate picnic looking our onto beautiful nature scenes.
Summertime is the best time to attend some free concerts in your area and meet some awesome local artist. If you're in the Tampa area, you can find a lot of these events occurring on Riverwalk or in Ybor. Free concerts by Riverwalk are my favorite because they are usually right on the grass looking out into the water
It doesn't take long to pack up your supplies and some sandwiches and spend the day fishing. If you're lucky, you can even move the festivities to a camp site and grill up some fish, while you enjoy the great outdoors. Though camping may cost a little extra cash, if you already have the supplies, it is not too costly, and is a great chance to go stargazing and tell some stories by a fire.
As students, we can take full advantage of student discounts at museums. USF students actually get free admittance to the Dali Museum. Taking a day trip to St. Pete to explore some art is a great way to spend a summer day with some friends. The Dali Museum is always adding new exhibits, so no two visits is the same!
I played the coin game with a group of my friends, and it has become our favorite thing to do when we're bored. Grab a friend, a coin, and a car. Heads = right and Tails = left. Every time you come to an intersection, flip the coin. You never know where you might end up, and usually we end up finding some unique, fun place we never heard of along the way. Last time we played, we ended up at a psychic and we all got readings!
You don't want to waste your few months of freedom.
The spring semester is nearing its end. This means that summer is coming up, and quick. Here are a few ideas for fun and unique dates.
Spending a day with your significant other out by the pool, getting some sun. The perfect day.
There's nothing like kissing on a ferris wheel.
It may seem old-fashioned, but drive-in movies are ALWAYS a good time. Fun, private, and romantic.
The salt, the sand, the fresh air. There's nothing more summery than that.
Pack a cooler full of your favorite foods and find a nice spot. Spend a couple hours in solitude. Watch the sun go down and the stars come up. What is better?
Turn on some summertime jams and go find some hidden treasures.
Taste test all the ice cream places in your town and find your favorite. It's a good excuse to eat ice cream all day.
This would probably be an Independence Day thing, but still fun.
There's nothing better than staying up late and having those deep discussions by the fire.
Splurge and get yourself tickets to see your favorite artist. It'll be something you won't regret.
Get a little out of your comfort zone and spend time in nature with some of the most beautiful animals out there.
Not only is this a fun activity, it is also a yummy one. You get to eat all that you pick.
Turn this into a competition; see who can make theirs the prettiest sculpture!
Search for constellations and other patterns you can find. There's nothing quite like laying under the stars!
Sailboating, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing. Find some water and enjoy it.
There's not much better than spending time with your significant other, but spending time with them and trying delicious food... yum.
Competitive AND exciting!
Water balloons, water guns, etc. It's all fun, just pick your weapon.
This can be board games, video games, or any other kind of game. Order a pizza, invite some other couples over, and kick back.
A perfect excuse to having some fun competition in great weather.
Disney World. Need I say more?
Because everyone needs to once in a while.
Sometimes it's hard to figure out when to just relax and take time for yourself, and when to reach out of your comfort zone. Living can get monotonous sometimes, so it's important to try new things and venture out of your comfort zone every once in a while. These might not be the same for everyone, but here are some ways I get out of my comfort zone.
Some people might think this is weird, but it surely brightens someone's day. Taking time to be nice to a complete stranger might be something out of the ordinary, but can be good for both parties.
There are plenty of ways to travel on the cheap side, and plenty of places to go that you might never have thought of before.
Yes, staying in and watching Netflix can be nice sometimes, but it's good to get out and be around people.
Order something other than your normal chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-a. You never know, you might like it even better.
Same thing as last, you might find that you like it.
Wanted to take an Art History class but your major is Biology? Do it anyways.
Try new things, venture out of your comfort zone, and be adventurous every once in a while.
