1. You must realize that this is real life and this semester has not been a dream.
Unfortunately, as breezy or difficult as the semester has been, we all have to come to the conclusion that the past 14 weeks have led up to this: Finals week. And yes, this is real life, everyone.
2. You must learn to accept the little bits of sleep that you will be getting for the next two weeks.
We all need sleep, but in reality with five tests that cover a whole semester, two term papers, and a final research project, what even is sleep? But just remember sleep is just a crazed fantasy, and with winter break right around the corner, you'll have plenty of time to catch up.
3. Continuing the idea of sleep, working sleeplessly together makes the lack of sleep more bearable.
Finals week means there is nothing as important as studying for your tests, so if you're in need of some friend time why not make a study group at the library? Just someone supply the coffee, and someone else the pillows. Because it's going to be a long night.
4. When in class it's best to get on your teachers' good sides.
Absorb as much information as possible, and show the teacher you're trying. They'll appreciate the effort and maybe even be flattered by how much you care. Don't waste time arguing with the textbooks; you had all semester to do that. Just accept the information and soak it into your mind.
5. When taking the test, know there will be trick questions
Prepare yourself as best as possible, and just know your information; don't second guess yourself. That's how mistakes happen. Trust your first instinct.
6. Don't expect hundreds on every test; just do the best you can.
It's likely that you will make mistakes on your tests, so learn from them. It's not the end of the world; just be happy with the grade you got and the class is over.
7. There will be pain, but keep pushing through.
Nothing says a job well done more than battle scars; you may get to the point where your brain starts to hurt with all the information, but just take a breather and know there will be time to rest in the weeks to come. You aren't actually going to die.
8. When in doubt give yourself a pep talk.
We all need a little encouragement sometimes; just trust yourself and know that in the end you've made it through and you're going to be OK. Because in reality it's just a week out of the year, and there's plenty more to enjoy.
