T.V. Shows & Movies to Watch During Quarantine

Although I think we can all collectively agree that Quarantine sucks... maybe these great movies and T.V. shows will make it suck a tad less ;)

T.V. Shows:

- New Girl: New Girl is honestly one of the most underrated yet still popular shows on television. It is in my best words the lovechild of The Office and Friends. Even though, Friends is insanely overrated and a show you really only enjoy if you have no taste. haha just kidding...

- Gossip Girl: I just recently started watching Gossip Girl, and let's just say I am not proud. I was cleaning out my closet, needed something to not focus on and lo and behold, Leighton Meester and Blake Lively appeared. Rewatching Gossip Girl at almost 19 and not 13, made me realize how messed up this show truly is. It also makes you really miss the city :(

- The Bold Type: I just realized I had a Hulu account and was fascinated by the many shows and found The Bold Type. It's a pretty good, mindless tv show if you're just looking for that. It's basically if you are looking for a worse, sitcom version of Sex and the City.

- Little Fires Everywhere: Little Fires Everywhere is a limited series that just came out on Hulu starring Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon. It is based on the novel by Celeste Ng, which I read over the summer and loved. The show is good, but not as good as the book.

- Breaking Bad: It is on my list to watch Breaking Bad, and I know I am almost a decade late on that one. I will start watching this when my brain needs a little bit of stimulation. Also, my roommate and parents both love this show... and they could not be any more different, so I think that it can be adored by all.

- Tiger King: Do you want to understand all the TikToks and memes your friends have been sending you or not?

Movies:

- The Blind Side: The Blind Side is the best feel-good movie ever created. I am convinced I am the number one fan of the Blind Side, but don't watch it with me because I can and I will recite every single line perfectly.

- Silver Linings Playbook: this move is truly heartbreaking yet so good at the same time. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence's chemistry is *chef's kiss*

- Cheaper By the Dozen 2: need I say more? This movie defined my childhood and is so so good

- A Star is Born: If you want to cry about how much you miss your friends and going to Barnyard but are too embarrassed? Just pretend that you're only crying about this depressing film filled with amazing music and Bradley Cooper (call me, Brad :)

- War Dogs, That Awkward Moment, Two Night Stand, Whiplash, The Divergent Trilogy: basically... watch ANYTHING that my lord and savior, Miles Teller is in. Miles, if you're reading this... my Fordham email is ccanny1@fordham.edu ;)

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
