As we all mourn the end of the beloved winter break, the start of the spring semester approaches, and with it comes a week that every college student holds mixed feelings for -- syllabus week. A week where professors don't bother with attendance, the only thing covered in class is the syllabus, and you can expect a sweet early release that gives you the opportunity to return to the warm embrace of your bed. Yet, with that, we have to deal with the not knowing of who will be in our classes, how our professors will turn out, and exactly what to expect in the course.
Although Khloe Kardashian has never experienced syllabus week, she somehow finds a way to portray the emotions that we do during it. Here are some of the things us college students experience during syllabus week, expressed by none other than Khloe Kardashian.
1. When you're sitting in a new class and can't figure out if it's going to be easy or hard.
Like, seriously? Any kind of heads up I can get here?
2. Finding the perfect outfit for your first day of classes.
It's hard finding something that's both cute and will keep you comfortable during those walks to classes, so when you find that perfect outfit, you're prepared for anything.
3. Finding a friend in a class.
You thought you were going to have to suffer through alone, but now you have someone to trudge through with you! It's an emotional moment.
4. When the professor starts teaching material on the first day of class.
I wasn't ready to learn anything today, and now I have to deal with this? Let me get a notebook for your class first, geez.
5. Those friends who try to get sympathy from you for having "so, so many hours."
You did this to yourself - why should I cry with you over your classes when I have my own to worry about.
6. Being able to go out on a weeknight without feeling like you have responsibilities hanging over you.
This is why syllabus week is a blessing -- even if you don't want to go out, you can relax and watch Netflix however late you want.
7. Getting released from class earlier than you know you will the rest of the semester.
Might as well take advantage of this while it lasts.
8. Looking at the costs of all the textbooks you need to get.
9. Receiving texts from your parents already asking about how your new classes are going.
I promise I (might) let you know when things are getting difficult. Aka, you'll get a call from me when I'm having a mental breakdown towards finals week.
10. Those professors who spend the first class talking about their entire lives -- and take up the entire class period doing so.
All I really need to know is exactly what your class is going to be about and how I can do well enough to not hurt my GPA.
11. When syllabus week ends, and it's time to actually start learning.
Can we just go back to syllabus quizzes and those horrible ice breaker activities?
Sure, syllabus isn't the most exciting week in the world. But we'll always miss it once it's gone.
