Who Is Sydney McGee?

I'm NOT so lit right now

I was texting some friends and all of a sudden I got a notification from Twitter.

My friend had tagged me in a video. It just so happened to be Sydney McGee's new hit single "Lit Right Now."

I couldn't even watch the entire way through the music video because of how cringy it was within the first 30 seconds. And if you enjoy this type of content then great you keep doing you, but I have a few problems with it. Exploiting Taco Bell, dabbing, white girls rapping and bragging about their lives while plugging their merch, and using the term lit in every other sentence really doesn't make for an enjoyable experience for me. I can't believe that Taco Bell and her school allowed her to film at their locations.

If you haven't seen the video click down below and give it a watch because you are one out of the 2 million people that have already watched it.

With a little research, I have figured out that Sydney McGee is another one of those cookie cutter YouTubers who vlogs and thinks that she can sing as well. She vlogs all of her crazy experiences such as finding the perfect dress, her spring break, or exploring LA. She sometimes shakes it up by adding complex content like couples yoga or what her hair care routine is. (If you can't hear the sarcasm in my writing please know that I am saying all of this in a sarcastic tone.)

I was very disappointed when I saw this music video and almost repulsed. Is this what is supposed to symbolize our future generations?

Self-absorbed kids, who think that they are better than everyone else and talented because they put a camera in front of their face? At one point she begins bragging about "how cool" she is in this particular music video and how everyone else' lives are "so boring."

I am extremely upset at what our country's future seems to be acting and looking like, but I have faith in humanity.

Maybe if we begin to set an example for the younger generations they will change for the better.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
