Dessert is the best part of any meal right? So after a night out of eating it is crucial to have sweet dining options lined up to end your meal on the right note. Right here in Knoxville, we have a variety of different dessert dining options, from doughnuts to ice cream these places will not disappoint. Below I have devised a list of my four favorite sweet spots in Knoxville, trust me when I say these places will not disappoint.

1. Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop:

Starting at the top of the list is Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop, this little pie shop is filled with a variety of sweet treats. From their delicious pies including Coconut Cream Pie and Key Lime Pie to their delectable thumbprint cookies. This is the perfect place to end a night or satisfy a sweet craving during the day!

2. Ham’n Goody's:

Coming in at number two is, Ham’n Goody's. This little deli and bakery shop has been in Knoxville since 1978. While they have delicious sandwiches & soups they are most known for their sweet treats, especially their world-famous iced lemon cookies. Every Knoxvillian knows that they sell the best, one of a kind lemon cookies. These cookies are so delicious that they ship them across the globe. They are perfect for anyone hosting an event!

3. Status Dough:

My number three top sweet spot is Status Dough. One of the newer doughnut shops in Knoxville, this place is a force to be reckoned with. Inside this little bakery is filled with the most delicious homemade doughnuts and scrumptious coffee. So whether you want to start your morning on a sweet note or end your day with a sweet treat, this is the place to go. With flavors from Buttermilk Old Fashioned to Cinnamon Roll, this one needs to be added to your treats list.

4. Cruze Farm:

Last, but not least is the one and only, Cruze Farm. This ice cream shop has become a household name in Knoxville. People have fallen in love with their homemade soft served ice cream and unique flavors. From dipped cones, floats, shakes, and churns this isn't your typical ice cream parlor. They change their flavors weekly so you have to keep up with their Instagram stories to see what they will be having, but trust me when I say you will not regret making the trip out to this place. The sweet cream drizzled with honey is one of my absolute favorites!

There you have it, four of the best spots in Knoxville to satisfy your sweet tooth! Happy eating!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
