A Survival Guide For College Finals Week

Yes, it is important to study your brains out, but eventually your brain will explode and then studying will be impossible.

A Survival Guide For College Finals Week

Everyone who is in or has been in college understands that finals week horror stories are no joke, so to all of those who are prepping for college, in college but have never been through finals week before, or are just curious about the struggles of a stressed out college student here you go! These are all the things you need to know about serving finals week!

1. Note Cards

This. Is. Life. Note cards are easiest, quickest, and most effective way to study for your tests. Many studies show that this visual style learning (when done right) helps retain more information because it allows you to understand the concept without actually memorizing your notes, which is time-consuming.

2. Study Groups

Getting a bunch of people from your class together and locking yourselves in a room until your brain feels so full that you think there is no possible way to fit any more information in there is awesome... No, really. If you don't understand something that happened in class, chances are one of your classmates did.

3. Teacher Run Study Sessions

Gold! Gold I tell you! The professor will basically tell you EXACTLY what will be on the test. You should never miss this opportunity if it is presented to you.

4. Multi-Colored Pens

These bad boys save lives by showing what is really important for the exam and what you can portly brush over while studying.

5. Energy, Snacks, and Hard Candy

These are absolutely necessary if you plan on living long enough to see your college education turn into anything. While studying and being a breath away from death, these heroes of the classroom will drag you back to reality and let you keep going.

6. Vitamin C... ANYTHING WITH VITAMIN C

The stress and lack of sleep really mess with your immune system, but no one can afford to get sick right before or during finals week. Trust me, taking an exam that contains any math at all is not fun with a fever of 101.

7. Study Breaks

Yes, it is important to study your brains out, but eventually your brain will explode and studying will be impossible. Go to the school run study breaks or find your own way to relax for an hour or two. Like Netflix... maybe not.

8. Sleep

Instead of staying up all night before the test studying, stay up the night before or study from dawn until dusk. Sleep is so important for the test because if you fall asleep while taking the test you are completely doomed because NO ONE will wake you up. Even after everyone has already finished and left.

9. Motivation

Just remember that as soon as finals are over, break begins and you can sleep as much as you want then and finally relax!

So good luck all my sleep deprived and stressed to the point of insanity comrades! I wish you the best and will see you on the other side!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
